Yeah man, mine was making weird sounds all last week after they repaird the road out front of our place. I think a lot of dust worked its way in there. It was freezing...not loading, the lil green light on the front of the xbox even turned RED...i was like WTF...never seen that colour on there before. A message came up saying "your xbox needs to be serviced bla bla bla" in 5 different languages and then it did a screen freeze and I had halo in when it did this. When the screen froze the last time there were clips of different body parts of a flood all in sections like it was a flood just taken apart and laid out flat. It was weird. So this morning when I got home from work I took the xbox apart and vacumed it out and cleaned the laser lense and pulled a few dust bunnies outs the gears...took me half an hour or so and Im not going to pay some shmuck a hundred bucks to do it and be without my xbox. After I cleaned it all out it loaded much quicker, didnt freeze at all during POA and only froze the sound a few times during Halo, but the game play didnt slow down at least. Its really making me mad because I cant move to the left during game play cuz my controler is messed as of last week (since I learnd I can get extra hight from clickin left after I jump...think it messed it up grrr) and now the xbox isnt running 100% and theres like 3 weeks until halo2. I may be buying a new one when I pick up H2 Nov8th, but I might try using a cleaning disk before. I dont have 200 bucks to throw down on a new one for another few weeks so I hope what I did will last until then.
lol I'm glad you took my advice =P but um.... DUST BUNNIES inside your xbox? O_O!!! lol thats gonna be a problem =P
oh btw does it skip on other games aswell? cause it might be a problem with the halo disk, not the xbox
