Subject: Halo PC/ CE problem for enabling the console and sreenshots

Hey guys and girls can anyone help me? I've had Halo PC for a while and CE, latly... while since today, I've been using CE and download maps and such for it. I got singleplayer maps for it but i need to enable the console to run them, I know what to do but when I type the command I have to type in the 'command prompt' I get a 'fatal error' claiming the 'shaders/vsh.bin' file is missing or corrupt and i should uninstall and then reinstall. So I checked the shaders folder, it was there, so insted of uninstalling I reinstalled to fix corrupted files. The installation program did its job so I try once more but got the same error. I don't want to uninstall then reinstall Halo and Halo CE and the patches and lose all my saves. I read somewhere that maybe the graphics card I am using might not run something called 'pixel sader 2.0' (I think), but I have a ATI Radeon X1900 XT so I dont think thats the problem. I also have the same issuses when I try to enable the screeshot feature. So can someone tell me what is the problem and tell me how to fix it? Please. I thank you in advance.

Instead of some tehno-geek answer, I'm gonna give you the easy solution. Go to Halomaps.org (check my sig) and download a custom ui (user interface) that enables single player. Copy the ui.map file that is in your maps foulder to someplace else. Unzip the new ui.map to your maps foulder in the CE directory, and you are good to go.

why not?

yeah, getting a custom ui is the easy solution, especially if you want CMT or others like biohalo.

As for your problem, 1900XT is definitely fine. Hm..you have console enabled?
I don't know too much about halo problems, as they're pretty rare.

The Halo Maps Website http://www.halomaps.org
The Halo Movies Website http://www.halomovies.org
The Halo CE Chronicles http://hcec.halomaps.org

Sigh... another over zealous internet security program at work:

I can't download files from your website

How Do I Play the Single Player Campaign Maps in Halo CE

How to configure Halo CE for Screenshots and Console

And please don't tell me it's the website because now that over 1.9 million Halo CE Map files and more than 51 Terabytes of data have been downloaded I can safely say that it is YOUR computer.

Less than one tenth of a percent what it costs to run the site. Which is OK. I never expected nor required anyone to donate. If people do then fine but I would never based the site on donations.

Wont work.

What won't work? There are three subjects posted there. All have been tried and tested by many. I'll assume that you can't download since that is the most comon issue and every time it turns out to be... gee let me think... Oh yea: The users computer. Either your internet security program (Norton, Mcafee, BlackIce, cyberpatrol, bitdefender...etc) is blocking port 21 which is why you can't download or else your router is blocking port 21 for FTP.

Determine which internet security program you are using and read the manual and enable port 21.

The other thing is if you are using a download manager that supports FTP transfers, Download managers are evil in that the are selfish unthoughful multi-thread non bandwidth sharing programs that open multiple connection to the file. We only support one connection to a file and cut off all others. Disable your DOWNLOAD MANAGER.
