Huh? Register/sign up for HaloPC? Dude, you don't have to register for anything, just get HaloPC, make sure you have a good internet connection, and you can host/join servers all you like...

Have fun.

Ah. Dude, Halo doesn't work like that. Simply make a profile, and you basically just "registered". Then you're free to go online and host and join games. Simple as that. Not like most other games where you have to make a separate online account.

Try forwarding ports 2302, and 2303. Or have you made a profile yet?

Oh, so now it's not a problem of "registering" but about being unable to connect to Gamespy.

I've never had this problem before, check out the stickies, they might help you.

Profile doesnt matter, it would just use the default one.

Its obviously a connection/gamespy issue. Occasionally the gamespy servers throw the toys out the pram.

Forwarding the ports is the best bet.

It's okay, we've all been newcomers once. And for forwarding your ports, try following the directions on http://www.portforward.com

Be nice, he's new. But then again, shadow, how do you "think" you installed GameSpy?

Maybe you should get someone in your household to help you. Since it's hard enough explaining things over the internet when we can't physically grab ur mouse and do it for you.

GAMESPY SUCKS. (you don't need it installed to play Halo, Battlefield 2, Medal of Honor Allied Assualt, or anyway Gamespy powered game!)

I got that message before, make sure you have a profile, are using it, what the other people said. Refresh and get the updates.

just for crap, xfire sucks, get firefox, get thunderbird,
micro

Gentmen I think I might have another possible solution.

Shadow make sure you check your fire walls they might be interfering with the server trying to connect.

You can go into your internet options and adjust them or you may have to inform your internet provider if you still can't join. However, first try and disable your own fire walls before you call your provider.

My friend had a problem with this so I think I know where you are coming from.

Erm, may I ask you, are you even connected to the internet?

Do you have dial-up or DSL / Cable?

Hm...he's posting here...wonder if he's connected.

Yes, check your firewalls. What you need to do though, is after clicking common ports and halo, find your router name. That's printed on the manual, and usually printed somewhere on your router if you're using one.

But he did say he was connected directly, so he shouldn't need to forward anything...

I had the same problem once, and it pops up every once in a while, but eventually (for me anyway) it goes away by itself. Just keep clicking the 'Refresh' button.
