I'm predicting it looks similar to the picture below, except 10x better running on PC >_>

Just remember... I keep it real...

That resolution is massive. My computer screen is only 1024 by 768.

The Halo CE Chronicles http://hcec.halomaps.org

Seeing as how H2V will allow custom content in the form of user created maps and I am assuming there will be a dedicated and client server for multiplayer functionality my main question is:

Q. How will the Halo 2 Vista client handle the dowload of H2V user maps? Will the user need to download and install the maps first like in Halo CE or will the server/client have the functionality to offer ingame downloads from the server or re-directed downloads (to a http server) for the user created maps?

It is common for the user community to be responsible for the distribution of the user created content, as we do at www.halomaps.org for Halo CE, so my question stems from the obvious need to estimate how much more bandwidth we will need to support downloads for the H2V maps.

Thank you.

I hope/reccommend that it is similar to what it was for CE. Perhaps make it a bit more mainstream by adding a 'suspend program' where it minimizes the game and brings up a new window saying 'click here to resume H2V'. Then the user could download whatever map(s) they want and then click a 'scan for new maps' option to re-read the checksums/etc./whatever.

Simply downloading a map from the server itself would be terribly impractical, especially since the cache's can be incredibly large. I flinch at having to pay for the bandwidth of map hosting along with gameplay. Especially after the fiasco where bungie.net referrals ran up three and a half times the monthly bandwidth in just three days.
