What was wrong with this thread that caused it to be locked? The mod posted a reason, but it's not enough. Was the thread breaking any rules? None that I can see. It was more of a thread about helping. I wanted to post in that thread, too.

Did I even offend anyone?

It was a legit thread. One made to help people think about their life. In fact, I think it should of been stickied. It's better than that Zombie one.
I think Toast just doesn't like me. He's totally out to get me....not to mention that reason he posted wasn't a very good one.

For the record, i'd piss my self silly if there was an Armatik action figure.

"Lazy -zapp!-, what the hell are you doing playing with me? Get to work lazy ass."

I can take offense to anything or anyone here, by choosing just a small thing about them/it. The thread was there to help people, I thought it was so well written that it should've been a sticky. There are far too many people whining and complaining about life, like the girl on my bus that is always complaining because the windows are broken. I told her to shutup about it once, and she proceeded to be an immature child about it, just like this situation.

People can get offended by anything. There are far more offensive things than the topic at hand, though I don't see those posts being sniped, or those threads being locked. I'd rather have offensive things than a million repeating threads about rap or rock, and what we're listening to.

If you're going to keep it clean, do it right.

Well, for one thing, it made me mad. You have no right to judge others. My life has happened to be very sad. I will admit that people complain about small incidents, but that doesn't mean that they all have nothing to be sad about. Go through what I have been through the last 3 years, lets see if you still think I am sad for no reason.

The thread was obviously not directed at you, then. You weren't paying attention. We aren't talking about people who've had huge problems thrown at them before they're ready to handle it, the thread was talking about the little wishy-washy complaints about this, that, and the other, and quite frankly, most of us don't want to hear it. It is, for lack of better word, retarded.

The point is that you don't know what the other person has gone through, or how they deal with things.

I recall once reading that the Flood is no one's personal blog.

Plain and simple, we don't want to hear it. I'm sorry for any problems that person might have, but whining over a paper cut (hypothetically speaking) is just stupid, especially on a gaming forum.

Just becuase they post their problems in an inappropiate plave still doesn't give you the right to judge. I see your point of view, but it still doesn't give you the right to judge.

The only reason this thread was locked was because one person took it personally. The only time you should ever take anything personally is when it has your name in it. Some people just cant handle things. If you dont like the thread, dont get angry, just dont post. Be logical, it was a post on a massive forum, it isnt directed at any one person on it. So taken offense from an indirect statement is idiotic.

This was a justified lock only because one person got angry over statement that wasnt in any way directed at him or anyone else.

It's their fault for posting it in the first place where they aren't supposed to. People are going to judge, whether you like it or not. When you walk into a job interview, your image is the first thing that the interviewer will notice. Same thing here. If you complain about your life and how it sucks so much without any serious problems, we're just going to think that you're a little whiney brat who does nothing but complain, complain, and complain.

Do yourself a favour, and keep your image well. Eventually you'll benefit from it.

Okay so.........
One person screws it up and everybody gets punished? You punish the person that screwed it up, not everybody. How else is he suppose to learn?

But was that the point of my thread? My thread simply stated to do something about minor issues(MINOR ISSUES..not life-time scars), not complain. Heck...I even gave examples on your direction in life. Also...there was no specific details on how to deal with things.

Yes, mods try and do help out the community but they can also make mistakes. But this is not one of those times :D At first the original topic was great. It was interesting and it had a meaning behind it. Than as I read on it became a bit off topic with the hole cutting of the wrist things. To bad poeple like that had to ruin a good topic.

YES. It's called a community. When one person screws up, the whole group screws up. The military is the same way. One screw up, everyone is disciplined to prevent it from happening again (although physical punishment is much more effective.)

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

I'm going to side with Toast here. You have no right to judge others on this forum. This isn't the website for complaints, or for self-help threads.

EDIT: Erm, yes, I think that if a Mod is PMed with a decision that they feel was unfair they should be forced to explain their actions. A thread shouldn't be created though.

I disagree, if that was so, then there wouldn't be a ban feature.

On second thought, there would be, but only for spam guard. Think about it, why do the Ninjas ban idiotic people? Because they're being idiotic, not the whole thread that they post in.

EDIT: Pink Menace, half your statement says it's going for Toast, but the other half totally agrees with me and shorty. Clarification?

Your thread is a self-help thread. You're trying to get people to just take a stiff upper lip and suck it up. This isn't the place for that. That any better? :)

Yay......like that'll work! Why discipline the already disciplined? You discipline the bad. It'll at least teach them a lesson.

I took time to write up this thread. And someone comes in, causes 'chaos', and in result, my thread gets locked. Now...you tell me if the 'bad' poster even gives a -blam!-?! It's not his thread, he didn't write it. He won't give a damn. He'll continue doing what he's doing. He won't learn til he gets punished.

And how can you compare an online forum to the military?

I took it personally.

"Oh, I don't like this thread so I think I'll lock it."
Righhttt...
Just because you're a mod means that your personal references is supreior to others?

I hate when people tell me what to do, or how to act. I have the right to cry over a paper cut. I could cry all day and night. And you have no right to tell me to "shut up". Though, I have never cried over such a small thing, I can if I want to.
You're right, you can do whatever you want.

I didn't tell you what to do. You actually listened to my thread? That's your fault.

No law prevents me from doing so.
Oh, I'm not even going to get into that.

It's called a:

com·mu·ni·ty (noun)
1.) an interacting population of various kinds of individuals in a common location

Well, judging from my thread. That rule wasn't in play. You locked it because you didn't like it.
