I'm a little bit divided on how I feel about clans. Sometimes they can really sour up a game by creating groups of people with heads full of self-perceived importance and gaming skill. Other times they dominate servers (mostly MMOs and such) and create a virtual reign of terror to appease their childish ego. On the other hand, I've seen clans elevate the gaming experience. Good natured clans with decent members have helped out other players and made servers a fun experience. Plus playing with a reliable group of the same people can bring a whole new level in tactics and online camaraderie (I know it sounds cheesy, but you know it's true).
I won't say that clans are going to be a good or bad thing for Halo2. What I know is that they could be either, depending on the players whom fill their ranks, and clans are here to stay nomatter how much a few anti-claners complain.
