So let me get this straight...
You removed Rumble Hardcore and replaced it with THAT ???
Then you post the news on the site and tell people that you want them to express their opinions on the new gametype, but you ONLY want opinions that are FOR the gametype and not against ????? Wow.
I personally hate the gametype and will probably never play it (if I wanted to play something like that I'd make a custom game.) But at the same time I understand that it will probably be a popular gametype among certain groups of gamers...so I believe it's justified. However, at the same time, there's also a LARGE chunk of the community who would like to see gametypes that actually involve skill, like the Hardcore gametypes. Team Slayer, Rumble Pit and Team Skirmish have become a headache to play considering how often you will get cheated at a level that's above 30 (or even less than that now-a-days), so those gametypes are pretty much dead (to those who don't cheat at least, or don't like getting cheated.) So the only skill-based gametypes we had left were Rumble Hardcore and Team Hardcore (which were GREAT gametypes in my personal opinion.) I really don't know if the same applies for these gametypes as I'm only like a 20 in Team Hardcore and WAS like a 11 in Rumble Hardcore.
This is frustrating to deal with, because I'm a huge fan of Halo2 but seem to find myself more aggravated with it than happy, and that's due largely to the cheaters and the lack of good gametypes (and I understand that you can't do anything about the cheaters, and you are not at fault). When Rumble Hardcore was added, I was so happy that there was a gametype that I could go into and find other players that were actually good at the game in a setup that most closely immitated the MLG FFA games that I have come to LOVE playing.
PLEASE at least give thought to the fact that there's a HUGE up and coming community of MLG gamers (or people that enjoy skill-based gametypes as apposed to crazy off the wall gametypes) that would greatly appreciate the chance to play MLG style gametypes when they can't find custom games. There's no lack of "fun"-based gametypes (SWAT, ActionSack, BTB etc.) but there IS a lack of "skill"-based gametypes.
Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing the "fun" gametypes every once in a while as well (SWAT is my favorite when I have ppl over), but when I feel like actually getting serious and playing a game involving some real skill, it's almost like a losing battle :(
Just a thought. :)
On what you said, I wonder if bungie ever goes into matchmaking with their accounts at lvl 30. I guarantee without any doubt, that if bungie was to "hack" or make their lvls lvl 30 purely for trial purposes, they would see how re -god-*amn-diculous it is to play
rumble pit (at least lvl 28?)
team skirmish (28+)
team slayer (probly 30+)
double team (25+ EASY)
btb skirmish (25+)
and get cheated, whether its modding on an original map, or team standby, or "you have experienced a network error", and your team gets booted from a game.... yes it does happen...
i apologize for venting but me and my tightly knit pack of friends are sick and tired of it....bring out a playlist that requires SKILL and gives us a level to compare with people
