Man i was so excited when i got on bungie.net to check out the new matchmaking playlist everyone was waiting for!....and then leave it to bungie to let everyone down again...by removing rumble hardcore and clanmatches. To not ban cheaters almost instantaneously, since you say that anyone who standbies or mods sets off a pretty obvious alarm, according to some of your posts in the wahhhhhhmbulance. I just want to know how you cant stop cheaters...or at least slow them down, when i play snipers at lvl 24 on one of my many accounts, and i get modded 5 games in a row, by 5 different groups of people?

Lets focus on stopping cheaters, since you obviously arent saying anything about halo 3, why not spend time foolproofing your game, and reduce cheating...

and while your at it, why dont you stop this from happening? Its GREAT that you banned the person modding, but why dont you ban his friends? Everytime i go into matchmaking i get modded, and these people just get a new 2month free trial every day if they want to. So why dont you ban people who are recruiting the modders...just a thought...

BTW: Im challenging you to a humpday bungie, clan XsV Ownage, we'd love to take you on...feel free to send me a message if you aren't afraid

Great to see HBO getting involved. Glad to see 6v6 back in matchmaking, even if it is for people who have done too many psychedelic drugs. Definite late Friday or Saturday night playlist!

So let me get this straight...

You removed Rumble Hardcore and replaced it with THAT ???

Then you post the news on the site and tell people that you want them to express their opinions on the new gametype, but you ONLY want opinions that are FOR the gametype and not against ????? Wow.

I personally hate the gametype and will probably never play it (if I wanted to play something like that I'd make a custom game.) But at the same time I understand that it will probably be a popular gametype among certain groups of gamers...so I believe it's justified. However, at the same time, there's also a LARGE chunk of the community who would like to see gametypes that actually involve skill, like the Hardcore gametypes. Team Slayer, Rumble Pit and Team Skirmish have become a headache to play considering how often you will get cheated at a level that's above 30 (or even less than that now-a-days), so those gametypes are pretty much dead (to those who don't cheat at least, or don't like getting cheated.) So the only skill-based gametypes we had left were Rumble Hardcore and Team Hardcore (which were GREAT gametypes in my personal opinion.) I really don't know if the same applies for these gametypes as I'm only like a 20 in Team Hardcore and WAS like a 11 in Rumble Hardcore.

This is frustrating to deal with, because I'm a huge fan of Halo2 but seem to find myself more aggravated with it than happy, and that's due largely to the cheaters and the lack of good gametypes (and I understand that you can't do anything about the cheaters, and you are not at fault). When Rumble Hardcore was added, I was so happy that there was a gametype that I could go into and find other players that were actually good at the game in a setup that most closely immitated the MLG FFA games that I have come to LOVE playing.

PLEASE at least give thought to the fact that there's a HUGE up and coming community of MLG gamers (or people that enjoy skill-based gametypes as apposed to crazy off the wall gametypes) that would greatly appreciate the chance to play MLG style gametypes when they can't find custom games. There's no lack of "fun"-based gametypes (SWAT, ActionSack, BTB etc.) but there IS a lack of "skill"-based gametypes.

Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing the "fun" gametypes every once in a while as well (SWAT is my favorite when I have ppl over), but when I feel like actually getting serious and playing a game involving some real skill, it's almost like a losing battle :(

Just a thought. :)

On what you said, I wonder if bungie ever goes into matchmaking with their accounts at lvl 30. I guarantee without any doubt, that if bungie was to "hack" or make their lvls lvl 30 purely for trial purposes, they would see how re -god-*amn-diculous it is to play

rumble pit (at least lvl 28?)
team skirmish (28+)
team slayer (probly 30+)
double team (25+ EASY)
btb skirmish (25+)

and get cheated, whether its modding on an original map, or team standby, or "you have experienced a network error", and your team gets booted from a game.... yes it does happen...

i apologize for venting but me and my tightly knit pack of friends are sick and tired of it....bring out a playlist that requires SKILL and gives us a level to compare with people

Bungie, Crazy Otto is extremely flawed. One person on a team will get one minute and the rest of the people on the team will quit!

Wait a few days for the people who don't like the playlist to fizzle out. The quitters will diminish the more people have decided whether they like the playlist or not.

You don't understand. I'm not referring to people who quit to make the game less fun. I mean that one person on a team will get one minute in the Hill, and the rest of the people on that team will quit. Since the only person on that team will have one minute, then every member on that team will have one minute and that team will win!

So, the people are quitting in order to win a game in which they are not participating in?

I agree with your basic idea, though.

Yes, but even though they're not really participating in it, they'll still get the points for winning because their team will win. There will actually be a tactical advantage to quitting.

In an unranked playlist?

I'm not doubting you. I'm just flabbergasted that there are people stupid enough to do this.

In my opinion, this is one of those "Get away from things" playlists. I feel that this is purely ment for fun, and, possibly, to vent some of the anger off of losing a 35 in Team Slayer. But, I have played this playlist. I feel it is pretty fun, and it is nice to have something totally different. Some people really don't like it. Personally, I find the playlist to be rather tough. I mean, getting an actual strategy working is hard. Although, I really don't like the people who are very quick to boot someone who happened to betray. Because, this is virtually a No Shields playlist. Accidents are bound to happen (Especially with rockets.) It just makes me mad to get booted because one of my teammates jumped in front of my BR. Overall, I find I will probably play this in my daily run through MM. It is fun, and seeing "Killtrocity" with a random rocket, will always bring a smile to my face. Anyway, I think this playlist wil grow on me.

Ya, this playlist is not meant to be serious. Another thing to think about is that it is only temporary. So, if you don't like it, just wait! The rest of us can play it!

This is my first ever post and will likely be last, but I have to say my peace.

For me this whole discussion comes down to the fact that there are two of very different people in the Halo community. The first would be the majority, those who play the game because it's fun. These are people who wander into matchmaking with names like Corey1991 or JDawg8354. They don't lose sleep over the fact that they lost their last game of the night to group of morons who are clearly not as skilled as they are but the morons controlled the Banshi the entire game.

These are a peaceful folk who enjoy the story of halo as much as the multiplayer. For them, it's not so much about the competition as it is about hanging out with friends and having a good time.

This is not why I play Halo at all. I could care less about the campaign. I haven't a clue what the covenant is. I take no pleasure in graphic novels. I get no rise when I meditate on the release of Halo 2 for Vista. My iPod contains no selections from the Halo soundtrack. I only care about one thing, did I win.

You see, I play Halo for the same reason I play any other sport, to crush my opponents. I don't care about making or losing friends. Sure, I play with my friends all the time, but I play to crush to them. To bring humiliation and shame upon them and their children. It brings me great satisfaction to do it, and to do it with a skill that I have worked for thousands of hours to hone and perfect.

For many of you, just the very thought of a person like me makes you a little bit sick. That's fine, the feeling is mutual. I've always hated the crowd that plays for fun. I don't chuckle when I lose, I yell at my lame teamates who caused me to lose, and then we play again until I win and just like Cobra Kai, if I have to sweep Danielson's leg to do it, then so be it.

I realize that people like me may be the minority, but we do exist and we hate playing for fun. If I wanted to play for fun I'd play something with a Mario Brother in it, but the fact is I want to sweep the leg and it bums me out that gametype that allowed me to do it has been removed.

I think that some people would do it just to raise their invisible rank. I do not know if many people would do this, but I think that really competitive people would do it (although I do not think that many of them would be playing this playlist). This probably will not be a huge problem, but some people just care too much.

You can still play things like Rumble Pit and Rumble Training to do the same things although players will start out with a Submachine Gun as opposed to a Battle Rifle, but players still spawn with Grenades and there usually are not many power weapons in those playlists.

THIS, my friends, is how you voice your distaste for the playlist. I can perfectly understand why he's posting, and on the plus side, he doesn't insult the "fun" community, but rather explains it, and accepts it.

ok yah bungie you already have team action sack witch is a bunch of random games y dont you just put these new game types in that playlist nobody needs another random playlist i know its fun from time to time but it would work out better if you turned more MLG. i personaly would subjest maybe a MLG 3v3 playlist or a 2v2 MLG playlist would be sweet just 4 us and the whole MLG crowd which is rapidly grow by the day thanx i would appeate it.
