I'm certifiable.

I'm reluctantly for it. Routine surveillance of civilians isn't exactly comfortable, but XBox Live is in essence a public forum so there's no expectation of privacy there. And bad (or inappropriate, anyway) things can happen there. This is no worse than police staking out a highway and looking for speeders or impaired drivers.

Just think of it like this -- you don't have anything to hide do you?

In fact -- you could tease them, if you were slightly evil. Talk about illegal activities going on at an enemies house for example?

Lmao @ last two posts...

If you were in a public game, then I see no reason why they couldn't, but in private games, passworded games, etc. it should be just as private as a phone call(legally), however they still monitor all phone calls anyway, stupid -blam!- american elitist commie pigs.

Anywho... yea..... I'd love to talk about why exactly it is that gamerx9 is hosting a crackparty anti-america al quaidafest in his basement at 1234 taliban lane. Definately some good topics if they are in fact going to be monitoring us.... ;-)

unfortunately, i also agree that the fbi could be allowed to listen in to xbox live conversations. Unless you're doing illegal activities you have nothing to worry about (last time i checked, smack talking other players was still legal), although it will make the game feel less private.

Stinkin child molesters ruining it for everyone. Why can't they just make some stupid chat service that child molesters can have free reign in instead of ruining live? oh...wait...that's starcraft ;)

Although i don't agree with the intrusion into personal conversation and 'smack' talking, there is a need for some sort of monitoring to ensure our safety and the safety younger kids (even though they can a right pain in the arse, especially when they frag you silly), However i dont think any terrorist that was worth his salt would plan an attack over an unencrypted and open channel whilst playing Rainbow 6 or Splinter cell:P
