There was already a thread made about wanting Halo for Mac.

It was locked down by the moderators for a reason so maybe this one shouldn't start.

Sry dude.

Bungie didn't make CE, gearbox did. This won't accomplish anything. You want to make it for Macintosh, go ahead.

Ah, the never-ending war between Mac and Windows has once again flared up... reminds me of a book I read. Kanthon vs Osthos, anyone? Prolly not, I doubt anyone here has read the book...

ROFLMFAO. WTF?

Any group of people with technical and artistic skills can develop games. Being a programmer myself, and having sucessfully programmed a simple 3D rendering engine, I know that it is quite possible for someone to create a game.

There are many independant game developers who aren't really large companies like Bungie. Duh.

However, if you were referring to the ability to port a game from one console/OS to another, then in most cases, yes. You would need access to the source code and art assets.

And the guy was joking when he said "do it yourself." Double duh.

I wonder if the Wolf thinks the Moon listens when he howls at it.

i vote no. Macs suck. get a pc. and anybody that knows how to use the right software correctly can make a game. I was experimenting around with an engine similar to runescape's and made a simple game.

Zamlon, while I agree that having CE for Mac would be teh uber hawtness (being on a Mac myself), the chances of it being made are slim to non-existant. So, for now, the Mac Halo-playing community will have to be content with these mods.

I say, windows sucks. They use a Mac and sayed it was windows. They can't create there own software, well, not good software.I'm not the one making a war. It's ppl like apoc the stunter. They star these wars cause there angry that Mac has more features than a pc that can get viruses so aesily.

...you're just looking to start another OS war, aren't you?

Let's explain this once and for all why there is and will never be HCE for Mac.

Gearbox Software was in charge of porting H1Xbox to PC. They did so, and decided to create an add-on, called Halo: Custom Edition (H1CE).

Meanwhile, Bungie gave Macsoft the task of porting H1Xbox to Mac. They did so, and left it at that.

Asking for a Mac edition of Custom Edition is asking a company who NEVER created H1Mac to suddenly make Custom Edition for mac. It's not possible.

Third point: H1PC in general (including CE) is dying, since it will be succeded by H2PC. Companies aren't going to bother making CE for a game that'll be replaced within a year.

And finally, why not go with Boot Camp instead of asking for a Mac H1CE?

In the future, Zamlon, please don't double post. In the HaloMods Mac Forum, you can click on each thread, and it will show where to DL the skin/map/ppf file.

I'll make a thread showcasing Mac Halo Mods Soon. (tm)

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

Look dude. I like Macs, and would prefer to use one. But when it comes to gaming, a PC is your best friend. Besides that, H2 PC is coming out shortly, and most likely, Halo PC and CE will die. Aside from that, the majority of PC games are just that. PC games. Because most people have a PC to play games.
Macs are good for professional stuff, PCs are good for gaming, and other things.

In short, CE will never come to a Mac. Not worth the time or effert for the small croud of Mac users. Just build a PC after Vista comes out.

Well, I heard windows can be installed to a Mac. :P Not that anyone one wants it. And if there was an app or a mod to allow 'Halo/Mac' to have files, maps and ect into a folder.

P.S When it comes to gaming,a pc is not a best friend,it's the operating system. It's windows you guys like. CE doesn't work w OS X Tiger :( :( Or Leopard when it comes out. I guess Mac Users (The computer lords) will have to legally or to those mental ppl, illegally install windows.
