I was curious what programs/studio's bungie uses to develop it's games. I thought I noticed a Maya screen shot in one movie, but I am not sure if I am thinking of something else or what. Also, what developing platform do you use? (Visual C++ or something to that effect. Lastly, do you have any books/articles you would recommend (or may have used in the process of making Halo and Halo2) as far as programming goes for the physics, rendering, light engines?
Thanks

trying to make Halo at your house? hehe j/k i dunno if anyone who would know would be on Bungie.net... (partially because they should be playing Halo 2)... you could go over to WideLoad's website and see if you can email Alex Seropion... He does, in fact have the rights to use the Halo engine...

I am not exactly sure and I would like to know as well, but i think most games are done in C++ and my guess would be that they use Microsoft Visual Studio .NET or something like that (seeing they are with microsoft). Yep, they use Maya, Photoshop, and some other programs for graphics and some "custon tools" though not sure if this is a program writen by Bungie people or just a custom (tweaked) version of some existing program. If anyone with some definite info could help us out that would be cool. Oh there was some Game Informer about making your own games in general, I'll dig that issue out sometime and see what it says. I think it gives some programs of high $ end and some lower end options. Hope I helped in some way.

Yeah, i kinda figured they used Visual Studio .NET, but I thought I remembered an article somewhere saying that microsoft was going to have a Developers kit to distribute to companies that want to develop x-box games. I didn't know what tools this kit came with, but I kinda figured it was based (or was) .NET.

I remember that game informer, i will have to dig that up as well.
