As someone said earlyer, it depends on which one you are more skilled with, you get the person whose the best on a controller and someone whose best at a keyboard/mouse, and its going to be an even match. I personaly like the keyboard\mouse, its easyer to control for me. Also someone earlyer said that its easyer to button mash on a controller with your thumbs than it is on a keyboard with your fingures, well to him, you dont button mash on a keyboard.

Keyboards and joysticks separate the boys from the men.........boys mash colorful buttons and twirl sticks while men use a wireless mouse, high sensitivity, and a erganomical key layout.

Mouse is more accurate and is more percise. Keyboard has more hand combos for more kinds of people. You can move and reload and use at the same time without slowing down.

Joystick is less accurate and percise, so there is some autoaim involved. The buttons will separate your thumbs from the important joy stick. Although there are triggers, the mouse has everything connected to the shoot button, making firing upon an enemy a little easier.

as someone said earlier, the vista team is playing a group that has played halo PROBABLY before we were playing the original game on xbox.

hell, put me in there and i would probably beat those guys with a keyboard mouse 9/10 times. its just a fact....i can move my guy left and right faster using my two fingers hitting A and D than you can moving your thumb left and right. the keyboard mouse always wins given that the two opponents are on the same skill level with the game and autoaim is off.

thats another thing...we werent hinted at if autoaim will be included or not. for the love of god...LEAVE IT OUT!!!

wow buddy...no u wouldnt... id -blam!-in pwn u with joystick if u use -blam!- keyboard and mouse

I would say go joystick with multiplayer only. Alot of newer cpu's are starting to get touch screens if the buyer can afford them. this would be HEAVILY unbalanced in multiplayer if you aren't using one. I hope somebody reads this and considers it as it will make everything fair as ALL players will use the same control types. But leaving the mouse/keyboard or touch screen options for single player campaign will be fine if a player deosn't have the cash to shellout(after buying his/her overpriced touch screen) for a controller.

that made me giggle.

anyways, i have a solution to all of this. since console players love their joysticks, and us pc users love our superior keyboard and mouse, lets just stay where we belong. console players get their autoaim with halo 2 and halo 3 on xbox, and us pc people get to bath in the glory that will be halo 2 vista with our additional maps, most likely additional content, map editor, and upgraded visuals. amen. like someone said earlier, separate the men from the boys.

Ok, maby I'm naieve about this or something, but how would you turn and look around useing a touch screen. If you only use it to shoot, and the mouse to look around, then you'd be takeing your hand WAY away from the mouse loosing your ability to turn while shooting. Its just doesnt seem like the best way to do anything in a game to me. Like I said, I may be wrong, and if I am, just enlighten me. But I dont think I am.

I used to play alot of pc games but now that we have the joy stick I never liked the key board anymore but the mouse is fine. I would be great to figure out a design that combines a mouse for camera and gun fire and a controller for the movement of the character and mayby buttons and or tiggers for minor controls that dont relate to gun fire.

I have to admit that the mouse is more precise and the buttons and keys are pushed very fast. But controlers are designed to be comfortable and the buttons sticks and triggers are placed in a way that will make it eazer to use.

I have an idea for bungie when h2v comes out. Create a matchmaking playlist for h2x vs h2v and that will realy settle a large chunk of this argument. I hope bungie is reading this.

RIP Halo 2.

From the sounds of it, seems like the controller users still get autoaim and the mouse people do too. Mice suck with autoaim, it's a freaking crutch to help the innacurate controllers. I prefer mouse anyday, but if they keep autoaim, I guess I'm using controller.

BEST GAME EVER!!!

Works really well and definently faster than a controller, i've played with a controller and it just felt kinda slow and stone-ageish...

I beg to differ. On my controller you can turn the speed up. 1 on the controller is 3 on Halo 2 Xbox. SO HA!!!

Personally I preferr the controller but I also preferr to acknowledge reality; unless the controller people get auto aim and the mouse doesn't (and there WILL be a cheat within days if this is so) the controller people are going to get absolutely raped.

Mouse turns faster and aims better. There is no getting around that. And if Bungie includes auto-aim in Halo 2 Vista, they can kiss the PC gaming crowd goodbye.

I say keyboard and mouse are easier to aim with. but there is something about the controller that makes it more fun to play with, I am just not sure what it is. ("
