i was reading the update and i had a thought about halo 2 since most of the aiming is done with the massive autoaim wouldn't playing with a mouse put u a a huge disadantage over someone who can sweep with a joy stick

Yes, yes it would, kudos to you for figuring that out...

Halo2PC probably won't have any autoaim.

A tip: try using punctuation when you make a post. It's kind of hard/annoying having to read one long sentence.

Thinking of something witty to write here since 2004...

I love controllers. I just feel like I'm controlling a brick when i'm using a keyboard and mouse. I feel more flexible with a controller. Probably since I grew up with Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.

Meh. James Bond is a good movie character. Good movies =/= good video games. And vice versa. (Although I hope I'm wrong about the Halo Movie)

Sad but true... Halo 1 > Halo 2>>>Halo 3

A mouse has has way more precision than an analog stick. An analog stick has 256 levels of sensitivity, while per square inch of surface area (DPI), the most basic optical mouse has 400. The best gaming mouses out there have 2000, and basic optical mouses are starting to be 800 DPI.

Check out my maps!

Escalator
Wonka Winder

I kick booty on Halo PC with my controller. Get in close, jump around, and use melee attacks! Should work better with Halo 2 because of the power of melee attacks.

P.S. I love the mouse, but hate the keyboard. I would love the mouse with a Wii style nun-chuck for analog walking.

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

Obviously mouse, simply because I bought a crappy gamepad.
Of course, the X-box 360 controller is a good competitor though. But I'm used to the mouse, so why not use it. I've got ball mouse anyway.

I wonder if the Wolf thinks the Moon listens when he howls at it.

but when you look at movement pc has like 8 different angles you can move(L,R,diagonall, etc)and you cant walk slowly. when with a controller you have 256, i think. So i would use a controller if i was making a movie for moving the camera and stuff.

Hm. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they turned off walking for H1PC, so even if you have a controller, you can't walk regardless of how much pressure you apply.

As for movie making, yeah, sure, I suppose it would be ideal for smooth movements, but you don't get the accuracy granted with a mouse in combat.

Just out of curiousity, I have a nice laser mouse with a DPI rating of 2000, but its too fast for me to do anything at all. Does anyone here actually use a rating that high?

Just turn your sensitivity down, and it will be very precise.

Just turn down the 'Mouse Sensitivity' setting in Halo itself. Or, post the mouse to me, and we can trade. I have a lovely optical mouse, works fine...
Oh, and LOL @ ball mice (mouses?)!

The mouse is a Logitech G5 which has buttons on the mouse where i can switch from 400dpi to 800dpi (i think) and then 2000dpi. I normally use the middle because the highest one is just too fast!

No, they have not. You can walk very slowly if you apply a little pressure. If you drive a warthog and only lightly push it, then it will go slower than if you pushed it harder. However, it's still no Xbox so it'll feel very, very different from the Xbox controls when you walk.

Oh yah, and mouse/keyboard FTW! We won't have noobish autoaim and therefore sweeping your reticule will not work.
