Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

There's already been one miracle today, don't count on there being two.

Finally, maybe now the H3 forum won't be a bastion of repeat topics and general tomfoolery!

Sweet! Now to figure out how it works!
Does this thing come with a manual?

Can't find something? The following advanced search techniques should help you return meaningful results.

word1 AND word2
search for 'word1' and 'word2'.

word1 OR word2
search for 'word1' OR 'word2'.

"a whole phrase"
search for an exact phrase.

(word1 OR word2) AND word3
logically group words and/or phrases.

word1 AND NOT word2
search for 'word1' and exclude 'word2'.

word*
wildcard search for any word starting with 'word'

I've been around these parts for almost eight years now...wow! Maybe I should be concerned about that...

It's not that hard...use it like you would google or Ask...if you still don't get it, go to the Search page (as mentioned above).

Nope. No bugs. Except for that weird glitch that has been showing up lately (the one Banshee Barron mentioned yesterday.)

I assume that will go away. Date searches would be nice. Apparently I can only go back 15 days before maxing out the search :-/

And not to be an ingrate.... but the advanced search would really be cool if it could have features (in V 2.0 of course) such as date parameters, and specific forum searches.

But it is nice, very nice.

I am imagining that it is getting used a bunch right now and I have really not noticed any impact to standard site/forum performance.

Any slowdown would be worth it, just so I could read this masterpiece again without spending an hour wading through pages and pages of old topics.

You're all clear kid.

It was meeee! Yes, I’ve been slaving away under Archronos’ tutelage and hopefully this feature has been worth the wait. Obviously, it will take a while to enhance it to a level you all want, but send constructive criticism our way and we will do our best to accommodate.

The 1000 post limit on the author search is somewhat arbitrary. Some people have literally tens of thousands of posts and our database said it would go on strike if we made it crunch through that much data. Perhaps, we will remove the limit once we get an idea of actual usage.

Also, I believe someone alluded to the fact that you can search more than just the forums. It’s true! You can search the entire site in fact. Try finding the soffish.

I notice it doesn't search in my private groups. Any plans to incorporate something like that? Why not?! :-)

Also, I'm impressed with this. The volume of posts it has to search through to come up with a match must be huge. I was surprised when it found one of my posts from about 2 years ago. Good stuff.

Wait....is there a karma system too? On the search page for a post you made it has something like 0K or 1K.

Hmmmmm....
