Nothing > 60 days old. Any thread with no activity for that period gets an auto-lock.

I am imagining a CPU, disk and DB spike right now as people experiment and try the feature out.

Yeah, but here's what I wonder. Why do they auto lock those threads, but keep them? It's just wasted space. How about instead of auto-lock, it's auto-delete.

Strange evolution how people have come to believe
That we are it's greatest achievement
We're barely, we're just a collection of cells
Overrating themselves

Even though a thread may have been inactive for 60 days, it may still contain relevant information and/or answers to important questions.

Besides who doesn't love reading a year old dissertation on why Bungie needs to bring back the H1 pistol, or why MLG is more balanced?

Kinky.

If you ever get screen shot of that, be sure to blur out the appropriate areas.

I find that a lot of the time for some reason, very interesting threads sink back. THe search will bring them back up.

Anyways, with the addition of a search feature we will now be able to access information faster and thus bring us closer to our ultimate goal, and phase 7 of our plan for world domination. We must prepare the slingshot....

You missed the point like Vader missed the banshee, your whole argument is covered in bees.
Stop sending me group invites -blam!-s!

the only thing i need the search feature for is to be forum cop and go around saying

"Use the search feature you ninny!

I agree with that...somewhat. I hope most people here would be mature enough not to do that, but there are a few who would. (in The Flood forum)

I was wondering about all those old locked fourm posts.
