I am the co-adminstrator of Lords.
As co-administrator, I deal with both player and staff requests, concerns, and make sure they all do what they can to benefit the community. As such, I often have a lot of work to do regarding my job as co-administator, and it requires time both online and offline.
It might sound cool to become a forum ninja, but it is just work for little benefit. The moderators do a good job at making it seem like there job is spent sitting around, making jokes with each other, having fun with the "Unleash Ninjas" button, and causing chaos in HFCS. There is much more to it than that. Just like my previous example, being a moderator requires judgement, communication abilities, etc. -- it is far more than locking thoughtless topics and banning bad users.
I should add there is little prestige in becoming a Forum Ninja. It is very elitist for a Ninja to gloat about his job, his powers, etc. In short, being a Ninja is not just more powers. It is dedication.
Ooh, this is all very true.. Of course, it's even worse on the Bungie.net forums. By 10 times, I'm sure. I don't think you guys realise the time and effort the moderators put into this.. Show a little respect, eh?
