A lot of people are asking, "How one earth will one be able to get the keyboard to work for H2 stuff?" Well here is what I used when I was using a keyboard for Halo 2 on xbox.
With Halo 2 on Xbox using a keyboard adapter I used this. These are the controls I use for Halo 1 PC, but of course with a few addes extras. I dont use keyboard for games anymore. I use Nostromo n52, but the keyboard layout hasn't changed so here it is.
Move- WASD keys for getting around.
Space- My action key. Reloading, getting in and out of vehicles, dual wielding it becomes X for switching out one of the guns.
Jump- Left Shift
Crouch- Left CTRL
Switch Weapons- F key
Dual Wield- C
Reload- R
Flashlight (talk button)- Q
Shoot- Left trigger on mouse.
Grenade- Right trigger on mouse
Melee- Click down on scroll wheel
Zoom- Back on scroll wheel
For vehicles such as the banshee, just compare what button on the controller matches what I have up there. It's not difficult people. And when dual wielding, when C was pressed for duals, the triggers became right and left gun. And to drop I only had to press melee button or C. I know there is confusion over the left and the right because on mouse left button is for shooting and right is shooting button for xbox. When I dual wielded, left trigger on mouse automatically became left gun as it was the gun that I was originally holding before I picked up a dual. And I used space to switch out right hand gun when in dual mode. So yes, the right and left trigger on the mouse with seperately control the left and right gun. There is your answer people who were asking that.
Personally, I believe keyboards and mouse are extremely better. More layouts, more precision, more speed, faster reactions, less moving of the fingers because all the main controls already have the fingers on them since they can lay out on the keyboard. Not to mentions graphics. And resolution. But my favorite part is how every button is instantly available and easily accessible so little or no motion is needed when moving for buttons. I have no idea how many times on a controller I have reached for a button and then a finger slid off another one and I got mixed up. And I like how the mouse has no movement limitations. It doesn't operate off linear movement. Once set, the sensitivity basically never needs to be touched, and then one can in a short time become very accustomed to it and be able to instantly put the reticle where you need.
(Feel free to flame, spam, and argue all you want, I know what I wrote works) And, I know what I am talking about. I have played using keyboard and mouse for years, and have been playing Halo 1 PC for overt 2 years. Didnt touch an Xbox till Halo 2 came out, and been playing that on live and xbox connect steadily since, as well as Halo 1, for XBC that is.
