I personally respect Bungie, but it seems so odd that after all their diligent work someone rips them off. I’m also fairly certain Bungie’s employee’s must have very in depth understandings of certain things. But honestly, I don’t believe their even capable of stopping the spread of their game code very well. Sure people can report sites, and links. But after sometime it’ll just be passed around by hand. Experts could have tracked down this problem rather quickly, but those type of individuals don’t work for Bungie maybe Microsoft. The worst move in fact was Bungie admitting to the fact on their website. This will proliferate the problem even more so. You don’t have to be a Photonics expert to understand what I’m speaking of.

it doesn't matter who you are bro even microsoft get all their software pirated, its just one of those things, at the end of the day u need to BUY the original to play live and thats what the majority wanna do. to be honest if i never had live i would still buy the original becoz i have waited that long, whats a few more weeks, just adds to the excitement.

I'm going to buy the released version, to support the work Bungie has done. But consider other individuals who speak French and only want to play the campaign mode. They wouldn't need the multi-player. I actually don't play multi-player, strictly campaign mode. Well I have played multi-player but then I don't get to do it very often.

I just think it's a bad idea for Bungie to announce this information at this time.

you're not getting the big picture, even if bungie never said anything about halo 2 being done, it wouldn't have changed anything related to this release. people who work at these places where games get sent to for mass producing obviously can get a hold of them and then it gets pirated.

I agree that this game would have been pirated at some point no matter what would happen. But releasing certian information can inflate a problem when done before a certian point. I wouldn't have even considered posting this until eight day's before or so. It could actually have boosted the immediate sales. But Bungie informed before thinking of the consequences.

how is it inflating the problem? the guy working at the place is still gonna know when the game arrives.. thats the bottom line. so bungie had every right to say its gone gold or whatever post you're referring to.

-down with the pirates!
erm except captain jack sparrow ofcourse.

More people will know that a pirated version of Halo 2 campaign mode is available. This means more people would download a copy will be aware of the fact.
