Ok...Let me preface by saying I don't have a lot of Halo pc experience. Please no flaming. Will the Halo 2 for Vista be playable on a Mac via Bootcamp?
I just got a G5 and want to be able to play the new hotness without buying a PC.
Any ideas???

A Mac version is not planned at this time. Your only chance is if Apple comes out with something that lets you run Vista on a Mac.

You can run Windows Vista on Mac with OS X.

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

I reccomend waiting until Vistas release, go out and get yourself a custom built gaming monster. Leave the Mac aside for the multimedia work.

Yup. I'm going to upgrade my PC with the latest parts and enjoy the newest most graphically intensive games out there.

Since BootCamp works with most, if not all OSs, I would be suprised if Vista doesn't work on BootCamp. Still, I would check with a fellow Mac user first.

You guys are kinda missing the point of bootcamp, dont you NEED an Intel processor?

The G5 isnt x86, which is what windows runs on.

We've been here since you left.
We left before you came.

You can either get bootcamo, or wait until Halo 2 Mac, which is probably going to be out in 2008 or 2009. But if they made Halo 1 for Mac, then we can always be hopeful

Microsoft and Apple are reportadly working on making Vista 'optimised' on the Mac, mainly to boost sells of Windows and Macs.

Microsoft does not care if more Macs are sold as long as more copies of Windows are sold, to have thier OS on every brand of PC is no bad thing. Also they would likely hope that people would love Vista on the Mac and be keen to buy a dedicated PC and maybe draw people from the Mac.

Either way it makes buisness sense for both companies to want Vista to work on the Intel Macs.
