Some people prefer playing FPS games on a PC. As for me I could play it either way. Not very well mind you but I could. Also on a PC version you can do more with the game. Such as make machinima easier, montages, and of course mod the game as you see fit and host it for others to play. Don't forget about the map editor as well. Some people will undoubtedly make some of the coolest maps that you wish you could play on your Xbox, but not be able to. Those are just a few of the things that people will get it for even if Halo 3 is coming.

There are really 2 distinct populations of gamers when it comes to Consoles and PC's.
Those that are console-exclusive tend to be so for very specific and understandable reasons. Platform consistency, extended platform and game life-cycle, relatively low initial costs (which admittedly is increasing), ease of setup, and so on.
Those that are PC-exclusive also tend to prefer their choice for some obvious and understandable reasons. High-performance, varied and upgradeable hardware, the most high-end experience is possible if your system is maintained to the leading edge.
Now, there are a bunch of people who own both and get the benefits and limitations of each.
But it's not realistic or fair to say that one platform detracts from another. Consolers got Halo and Halo 2 first (as an example) and their PC equivalents were released years afterward. Because of the time gap, the game was able to be written so it could take advantage of hardware that was generations beyond the original console experience. In some ways.... "good things come to those who wait".
On the other hand, PC's saw games such as Half Life 2 before console owners did, and due to the nature of the platforms, the older PC version was (in many ways) a more complete and enjoyable experience. Even so, folks who are console-exclusive got to enjoy a great game that they might not have been able to.
So, I personally am not "against" a port, rewrite, or cross-platform release. As long as it is done well and the game itself is good.

Is the Xbox 360 worse than a high end computer (for gaming)?
Well, yes and no. Though I prefer a high-end PC since I am a PC gamer at heart who enjoys computers and computer games, I'm having as much fun with my Xbox 360 as I am with my PC.
