Master Chief: You bring the crowns and heads of conquered kings to my CITY STEPS! You insult my queen, you threatened my people with slavery and death! Oh I chosen my way closely, Arbiter. Perhaps you have done the same.
The Arbiter: Spare for me, THIS IS MADNESS!
Master Chief: Madness? THIS IS SPARTA 117!

Recently, I just saw the videos from IGN, the way his opponents act seems like bots where they just stand still and shoot at you, and all of their names is "Player #". Are they bots or real players who just act up that way?

For dualing weapons, do you have to use both of the mouse buttons or do you just use a simple left click that releases both? I have a feeling that pushing both buttons would feel a little akward for FPS.

Do you actually play with Xbox players if Windows Vista could actually allow that, is it possible? Because since Halo 2 on Vista will be part of Next-Gen (PC of course), but does it really work? A game like Unreal Tournament 2004 has voice-chat, so is it really possible?

The video you saw is probably an Alpha or beta version of the game, not all the features would have been implemented. The players in the video were most likely bots, since multiplayer support is usually the most technically intensive part of the game and is usually the last thing to be worked on (sometimes it's just tacked on as a last minute addition)

For Dual Wielding, they'll either use the two mouse button config or a mouse button and secondary fire button on the keyboard. Although as with nearly all computer games, the user can configure the controls to his preference.

There will not be PC/Xbox players playing together on the same server since that is pretty much impossible due to the fact that the coding for the two games would be way too different to allow for that kind of compatability.

All PC games have voice chat now thanks to TeamSpeak and that other program whose name I can't recall. Halo2PC will most likely have some form of Voip support.

Here you go. An idea for the likely layout for H2 PC.

They're obviously real players... some of the crappiest I've ever seen at that. Because then why is the person who's playing named "Player #" as well? Obviously not bots.

No, Halo 2 Vista players will not be allowed to play with Xbox players, and for good reason too.

I wonder if the Wolf thinks the Moon listens when he howls at it.

we wont be able to play with boxers(xbox users) but we can comunicate with the boxers but tha would also be impossible because the majority of players on halo 2 xbox live are 13 and under and consist of randomly screaming gibberish into the microphone.

What a retarded stereotype. Sure, there are tons of idiots out there on Xbox Live, and the PC crowd does tend to be more mature, but it's still a very ignorant statement. There's tons of polite, mature on Halo 2 as well.

Half-True. Last time I played Live on my buddie's house, I didn't go once without hearing the deafining sound of a child whining about everything and cursing their lungs out for non-sense reasons. But then again, I don't play Live that much, I should start playing with friends only.

oh, gosh...i can still remember the whining babies from the last time i played XBL five months ago. BUT i also can remember them on Halo online from the PC Halo. though...i admit that their weren't as much. i hope that there are bots, i'm getting tired of my father not wanting to play MP because he sucks at it and he's the only one i can play with mostly because i don't have live....yet.

Do any of you besides TUI_Obi_Wan know really why you're talking about kids in Xbox Live have to do with this thread? Just 'mute' and send the lewdness (Those counts with music messages) feedback to those kids and just say good bye. Usually the kiddy voices that are a bit deep isn't annoying. Stop complaing about it here.

Anyways, if those "Player #s" were real players, then why do they all act the same and doesn't seem to care whether they're getting killed or not? I still think those are bots.

Why is it the whole world is celebrating the release of Halo3 except Bungie's Halo 3 forums?

its not that they are all like that, its just that each game you get maybe one or two of them and they will be the only ones to talk. So it just seems like that. But dont worry its really not. BTW thats one of the reasons im swtiching to pc.

They have confirmed there will be text chatting and dual-weilding but that there will not be bots or playing with Xbox players. One reviewer from the Leipzig show said that the German players tended to stop and then turn, which made them look like bots and made them frightfully easy targets. They have not confirmed voice in-game, but would be suicide not to include it, because so many current games have it built-in.

Like someone said earlier, there is TeamSpeak available, and one of the screenshots has somebody using their microphone (The elite picture), but of course typing will be there. What kind of a PC game without typing? About almost every single game played in the PC obviously lets you type.

German players? Even if they're german doesn't mean ALL of them would just stand and shoot, otherwise it's more like they're new to FPS whether if they are playing the game. The IGN video I saw took place at E3, and people who goes to E3 wouldn't be doing that, and I'm quite sure the germans weren't there. I still need some facts why they're not bots or some info proving they were actual human players.

Yeah, it was said the German players like to stand and shoot, that's why you think it's bots.

P.S Krazy in reply to your last post.....you are an idiot. That was not E3!! E3 us in May! E3 was when Halo 3 was announced. They were at the German Gaming Expo (I think that's the name), and plus, if bungie says osmething...it's true. Stop trying ot not believe....it just shows how big of a loser you are.

i agree yes there are some mature people on there but i was in some random game doing split screen online with friend and i started racking up kills with a sniper and some imature 12ish kid started screaming that i was a hacker. so we leave go into some team slayer ivery towers and once we enter the room and start playing i heard some 9ish kid yelling and it hurt my ears so i took the mic off. I do say there are some mature people on live but seriously live has so many annoyances.i think the reason is because H2 is so popular anybody buys it. if you wanna game that has less annoying players i recomend socom 2 but socom 2 online has been taken over by hackers so i recomend s3 which is new which means it hasnt had enough time to naturally filter out imature players.

Didn't Bungie say that PC players will be able to invite their Xbox friends to games?

That is impossible. Absolutely impossible. The platforms are different, the coding language is different, and the version will be different. Same as the way you can't play online with people who have a different version of the same game. The Xboxers might be able to download the custom content (maps) that are made using the H2Vista map editor, that's about it. You won't be playing H2Vista against your Xbox buddies.

Finally! Somebody understands! It's almost akin to "You can't plug in an electrical appliance to a European outlet." Sorry for the bad analogy, but you have to understand why cross-platform gaming is hell.
