It's getting to the point where no one will sell games rated M to minors.

I know Walmart won't, they've asked for my ID a few times.

If you wanna see an airplane cemetery, why don't you just find an old airplane and look at where it goes?

Also, they can still own those games if somebody else buys those games for them.

Don't forget that the game may be rated M in the U S of A but it may not be rated as high in other countries. I think Aus its rated 15.

Yes, you're right, Halo is MA 15+ in Australia, which means I can legally play it with my brother (Who is 15)

Now, to censorship, as it has been said before people aren't mature, they would abuse and you agreed to the Code Of Conduct, so I doubt censorship will be stopped, just created a censor like this (F**K) if you don't like the standard -blam!-...

Oh and to adress another point about how its becoming illegal of sorts to buy mature games if you are a minor...I just bought Doom 3 at EB by myself, I also bought GTA: San Andreas there without an adult.

Spouting them because you can't control it? Well that is known as Tourette's Disorder.

Old Native American proverb. "A boy shows that he is still a boy by demonstrating his eagerness to become a man."

At first I was going to correct you, but tourette's disorder is an acceptable terminology ;)

I agree with it all though, Good use of analogies Recon, o wise and noble sage of these B.net forums.

EDIT: wait, Recon, you just went down a bit on the ol' wise-o-metre. The disorder you are htinking of is Coprolalia It is found in some tourette's patients.

I am afraid that is bad advice. doing that can and will get a member blacklisted. I am leaving it intact so that people can see what I am talking about.

I guess I'll stop doing that in future then...

Edit- I didn't catch that "Even when masked by other characters" bit, thanks for pointing that out Recon.

BUt honestly, who wants a bunch of kids swearing at you all day. My time in optimatch would be much worse.

I think sometimes swearing does merit its necessity. You can never use appropriate words when you accidenly delete your MySQL server..grrr

But I think swearing doesn't mean it's bad, but it's bad people that use it.

Using the F word can be appropriate sometimes, like say....accidenly deleting your MySQL server for instance, I got so mad that even simple context can express how I'm feeling and censoring it for you doesn't do me or you justice because you can't know the level of anger I felt when I accidently deleted my MySQL server.

...and yes that actually happened, but I'm not as mad because I got it back up after days of re-coding.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I have that homonyms problem from time to time also.

When trying to convey a thought that might have censored content, just use a euphimsim, or a synonym. Just don't do it in a way that seems to be trying to circumvent the -blam- filter. If you try to find new or different ways of putting your thoughts on paper(on on B.net in this case) you might just expand your vocabulary and reach a new level of abstract thought, and that couldn't hurt.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Until bungie starts censoring the term "Censor" or " cersoring" I'm not at all worried about the filter, or any other things they do.

I'm not that active, but never dead.

I always find if funny to just say the blam as you are typing.

It relieves tension. ;)
