How about a special addition 360 that doesn't break? They could make it bright pink with ponies on the side and i would still buy it....

Ok this critique is based on my personal experience with Halo PC and I think this could help sell Halo 2 Vista alittle more if the facts were known, but hear me out, and someone please tell me if this is already being implemented this very moment and I promise t stop my *****ing ok?

WHne I would play Halo PC the 2 things that got me most No1 is Lack of aim assist when using a controller, and a lack of choice as far as vibrtion is concerned.

Now I can understand if the former was left out for a very valid reason, possibly to do with balancing.....fair enough if that's so I can take that. But Vibration is osmething that was probably so easily overlooked it actually hurt it alot for me. I loved playing the campaign of halo 1 all over again (It's a personal timeless classic that I could play over and over) in High res and TRUE Widescreen format, we all know bungie cheated Halo CE lol.

But when i was playing campaing I would use vibration as a means of knowing when i was being attacked and it's something that I never realised till I played Halo PC that I so largely rlied on.

I understand that I may have been the only one to have missed and needed vibration function soooo much, but it's a small feature that I'm sure you can get the coding from the Xbox version from or something, but please don't overlook it this time, whether it be a game saving feature for me aor a cool nifty thing to to have if you are playing on a 360 controller.

Ok thanx for listening to my rant, feel free to close the thread if my questions have been answered, just point me in the right direction please!

Sounds like a great idea! I'd like to know when I was being shot too, lol.

Hopefully they will enable the vibration function with the Xbox 360 controller for Windows Vista games. But dude, nobody with half a brain would play with a gamepad as they would stick to the mouse and keyboard, as I would, along with mostly everybody here. And a vibrating mouse/keyboard would be pretty retarded and be more of a distraction than a way to immerse yourself into the game.

Also, I don't need to know I'm being shot by having the controller rumbling. I can tell when my shields start to go down and my screen is flashing white. And threads are only locked if they're unrelated to the forum, is turned into a flamefest, bumped, etc., not if your question is answered.

Trailer Park Boys ~ One of the best Canadian made comedies ever.

Its easy to tell where your getting hit from with no vibration. I havnt played with vibration on in a year on halo 2 online, it makes it way easier to focus aiming.

How does vibration tell where your getting shot? lmao, all it does is vibrates, so i dont know what your talking about you dam goose.

Play 50 games of team hardcore with no vibration and youll wish you have earlier

not to mention it would scare the -blam!- out of me. I can be in the shadows, looking for enemies, and get shot and jump through my ceiling

Heh...you need to play Doom3 or HL2's Ravenholm...that should cure you instantly.

Although if you jump from a vibrating controller, who knows what those two games will do to you. ^_~

It's an idea, and nobody's gonna shoot you down for saying it...although people are, by nature of a forum, going to offer disagreeing opinions.

No matter, here's my take on it. H2PC will be designed for the PC, meaning that things like controller vibration feedback will be more or less useless since only a very small percentage of players will be using the controller. Autoaim would just make H2PC as easy as your standard flash minigame.

If they put auto aim for Halo2PC, that would royally suck monkey nuts. Since it would give an unfair advantage to gamepad users. And if it was a general feature available to both controllers, then the game would be no fun at all. I don't think I've ever played a PC shooter with an autoaim feature.

I hope to god there is no autoaim.

There probably won't be any auto-aim for H2 Vista. I hope however, that the mini-lunge effect with melees will still be in Halo 2 Vista.

Im interested as to how they are going to balence it. Theres support for the pads, but without autoaim they are going to be at hellva disadvantage. But then if one is added, will it be easier than keyboard and mouse?

the last thing I want is to keep getting beat by kids not as good but, just because they have a controller with autoaim.

I notice they didnt say anything about it in the controller pad v mouse n keyboard war. Unless I missed it?

Leave autoaim out, this is a PC version mainly for PC players.

ROFL! I get into playing to much and games like Doom are so good at setting the tone of the situation with subtle music and sound effects I get freaked out. I couldn't finish Doom 3 because I couldn't see anything on my old CRT. My first encounter with the flood scared me off Halo for a couple days. A vibrating mouse would give me a heartattack.

The scariest game I've ever played was the original Half-Life. Those head-crabs scared the bejeezus outta me. Compared to them the flood looked like little sacs of crap. But they blew up nice.

We're not going to have auto-aim in H2V, at all.

Agreed. When I popped the vast horde of infection forms with my assault rifle I felt like I was shooting balloons with no substance, it just wasn't satisfying. Now, headcrabs feel real, they look real, they're believable creatures, and it's much more satisfying to bash their little bodies in with a crowbar. Headcrabs and headcrab zombies are scarier than Flood forms, though they're both still relatively creepy.

i hate vibration! it always made me drop my controller because my hands would start to tingle. and for all of those mouse/keyborders...you suck. i do admit to sniping with a mouse, but otherwise...err...nevermind...this is the wrong place for this.

Autoaim takes away all the skill. AND its unrealistic, how does a bullet change direction AFTER it leaves the barrel?

Not only that Kim, but the head crabs were actually dangerous, they did some pretty nasty damage. The flood one the other hand, you could walk through a big group of them and not lose shields. Squishy Squishy.

I wonder what would be a worse job for some lowly private; Cleaning heads or hosing down the MC after a long jaunt through Floodsville...

I wonder if the Wolf thinks the Moon listens when he howls at it.

first off autoaim is for noobs who cant lead manually. and second off if you play halo pc long enough you will know when u are getting attacked quickly by paying attention to the screen and by making good use of the radar detecter.

i just started playing through HL1 wih the source engine and with the exception of headcrabs pooping out in dark hallways HL1 really isnt that scary.
