Subject: "Blogging?"

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

I see, Recon, that you know more of me than me. Or perhaps I just lack self-confidence in my ideas.

Well, thanks!

But back on topic, I know that B.net isn't a blogging spot, but the Flood seems to be engineered for it just because it's the "off-topic" forum. And does posting little stories about your life do any harm, even if you don't say "discuss" or something at the end? Most subject matter of stories leaves room for discussion of some sort.

Well there have been some questionable threads that I didn't think deserved locking.

I remember one thread that highlighted someone's vacation .........but he did make it with an air of "bloggish" but still open for discussion. It was deemed a blog and taken care of.

I think the problem is that everyone wants to discuss what's going on in their lives. But not everyone will do it in a manner that's acceptable, or in stride with the rules.

Not to mention reading thread after thread about your latest break-up does tend to get annoying, but then again some people actually have interesting things in their lives to talk about. However, they can't talk about it for fear of it being deemed a blog.

I guess it's a two-edged sword we're dealing with here :-/
