Halo 1 & 2 for PC

IT was auto-aim that made Halo 2 on Xbox Live so fun because lag and latency wasn't "too-much" of an issue. I think it should be in the PC version as well. It would be a shame if they took it out.

EDIT: The thread has advanced since the topic started, it'd be in your best interest to read before you post.

Are you for real?

Thats what(my opinion) made Halo2 on live so incrediable lame. I'm geussing you never played Halo Pc. With a mouse and the Net Codes of Halo Sniping actually takes "Skill" to an extent. Becuase if i'm just doing that sweep trick in Halo 2 and getting Auto Aim, then I really would not consider my self very good. But in Halo Pc were you have to dead with the Lag, Lateracy, and the Net Codes, then hitting the person your shooting at is an acoplishement, and it makes getting a One Hit Kill feel so much better than when you sweep.

I don't like auto aim.

if H2V is ported right, I'm pretty sure there will be aimbots to go with the auto-aim.

I disfavor the auto-aim.

No aimbots or auto aim. The controller pretty much requires an auto aim to use IMO.

If they incorporate a auto-aim into it, I wont buy it. Campaign is OK like Half Life 2, such as a difficulty setting - Easy (provides aiming assisstance), Hard (no aiming assisstance), etc.

The only people who need autoaim are the ones who have no hand/eye coordination, or just plain suck.

Damn straight. Noob-aim.
That difficulty setting idea may be good for campaign, though.

Auto-Aim is a terrible idea. It's the thing I hated the most about Halo2.

You must really suck in Halo that much to be thinking H2V should have auto-aim.

Trailer Park Boys ~ One of the best Canadian made comedies ever.

Halo 2 vista needs the exact same auto aim as Halo CE =)

I just don't want to be leading my shots like 2 cm in front of the person. (Halo PC guys know what I'm talking about!) If I remember correctly, Auto-Aim made it more lag-friendly. Even the guys with yellow bars could still put up a fight becaue they had the auto-aim to offset their latency.

I wonder if the Wolf thinks the Moon listens when he howls at it.

No. It. Should. Not. Period.

Halo2 won't have Gearbox doing the port. So the netcode will not be as bad.

Auto aim doesn't offset latency. It just makes you think you are good at aiming when you most probably aren't.

I'll tell you what will happen if Halo2Vista has autoaim:

All the little nooblingers will be running around thinking they're better than they really are. Then when someone who doesn't use autoaim comes along and pwns them 6 ways from sunday, they all scream AIMBOTZORZ! and CHEATZORZ! or whatever. Since anyone with half decent hand/eye coordination can outshoot the autoaim.

If the only reason Auto-Aim shouldn't be in H2V because noobs think they're better than anyone else, doesn't seem to be a strong point compared to the dozens of benefits that Auto-Aim can bring to 56k'ers and people with low upload speeds. Playing the game easier is better than not playing the game at all. And I find it rediculous how you can be irritated at a noob when all you have to do is outbeat them and put them back in their place. Seems to me you're showing a sign of weakness and profess to be better than them when in fact you're not because of Auto-Aim? Definitely sounds like weakness to me.

What is this, "Showing a sign of Weakness" stuff? Listen if someone is playing with lag that is bad enough to truly affect game play in the manner of which you speak the player has no business playing the game at all until they have a computer that can run it at a steady pace. And for average lag, most of the time it is not nearly bad enough to have to use an aim assist to function well in the game. We are just stating that aim assist should be left on the consol as it is harder to aim with the precision of a mouse when using a controller. Because we are using the mouse and key board we have access to an increased amount of accuracy and speed thus ruling out the need for an aim assist in the game. Like my dad always sais, "If it's not broken don't fix it" the same thing applies to Halo 2 for Windows Vista.

Do you really think the Autoaim is going to help laggy 56kers? It won't. Not even an aimbot helps them. Did you even watch that video? A one armed four year old could play Halo2 on Xbox.

They won't put autoaim in Halo2Vista because it's just not needed.

I also think that Auto-Aim isn't needed on PC but if it is in there it should ONLY be there to help players using the Xbox 360 Controller so that the game feels the same as the Xbox original when using the Xbox 360 Controller.

It's not needed when using Keyboard and Mouse.

I disagree, Cwagle. I think there should be no auto-aim in H2 Vista.
