I was once a noob playing Halo. Guess how I got around that? I played the -blam!- game long enough that I learned some skills. I don't need autoaim to make my shots for me.

And spark, I never said the GAMES took no skill, even though most of the Xbox games I've played I could cruise through in about a weekend. I said using the console took no intelligence. While that might seem like an odd statement since some people prefer the user friendlyness of a console, I just prefer to use a computer because you have to actually learn how to use it. And I don't have to upgrade my computer every year, even though I very well could if I wanted to. And the graphics aren't great on a console either. I find the picture quite blurry due to the low resolutions. The only Xbox game that had graphics that blew my mind was Mechassault2: Lone Wolf. Damn, I hope the next Mechwarrior game (God willing there will be) looks like that.

Guys, play nice. This isn't a console vs. PC thread.

If Auto-Aim can't be used as effectively, I move for bigger hitboxes then. Whatever gets rid of that "nasty" "elongated" leading on Halo PC that I hate so much.

Halo2Vista is going to be a brand new game. Bungie has clearly learned from it's mistakes with HaloPC. The net code will be nowhere near as bad as HaloPC. Therefore, the "nasty" "elongated" leading will be a thing of the past.

Therefore having hitboxes that extend outwards from the MC will most likely not be needed.

I notice you keep saying its to make up for halo1pc lag/leading. Dispite many people informing you bungie are very unlikely to make the same mistake with poor netcode.

Worried about getting beat down all the time? Hmm.

For the record, while I hate the lag, leading is a test of brain matter and is easy once your used to it.

I'm here to fuel this debate, as it is one of the few that I have seen that hasn't devolved into one giant fireball.

What about homing?
Plasma shots should home in on your target, seeing as plasma is affected by magnetic fields, and the MC is carrying a fusion reactor on his back.
Some geek-type people, do the math, cause i suck.

For the record, Plasma Rifle shots on HPC home at medium/close range. Which is stupid as since the weapon fire is so damn slow you almost ALWAYS MISS.
I don't think they do that in H2, though.

TUI_Obi_Wan; I enjoy playing Halo PC even with the leading because I've grown used to it, but after I do it so long my brain starts to uhhh "fizz out" as Minjin pointed out it's more about brain matter. I made this thread in case the Netcode doesn't work out as they want it to because let's face it. There will never be the perfect or near-perfect netcode. There's always going to be something that's going to prove fatal later. Halo 2 Xbox Live proved this by allowing hitboxes and auto-aim online and hackers manipulated these values to give themselves god-like speed and percision.

I only implore for Auto-Aim as a last measure in case the netcode doesn't work the way it wants. I emphasize just in case because well.....who knows? If anyone can catch AIDS then any netcode can be proven flawed later on. I'm just thinking one step ahead.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny.

Halo PC ran fine online if everyone had a decent connection and sometimes it lagged like crazy...but Halo PC didn't need Auto-Aim so why should Halo 2 Vista.
