And heavier CPU usage(that's why it supports dual cores...it requires them)...and IE7 has heavier bandwidth usage than IE6 (which sucks cause its slower)....and monstrous internal navigation.....
Well, Pentium 2 processors can't exactly handle it...it's 2006 in computing, after all. With Vista, we won't need to worry about underpowered processors.
I'd like proof from Microsoft themselves that they need a DC to run Vista. I know people who have gotten Vista/Aero full running on a 1.8 single core AMD. I'd also like proof that IE7 consumes more bandwidth than IE6. More than likely, its your ISP that's causing problems for you.
I don't know about the main market, but as a computer devout, I'd rather see more powerful, faster computers mass-produced by the big names like Dell, HP, etc. Making a new OS that requires higher specs is a good way of bringing this idea to life. Far too long have they been cheating consumers out of a decent computer by offering lower-than-standard specs and Intel Integrated GPUs.
Less "OMG MY COMPUTER CANT RUN HALO" threads that way as well.
Edited for nastiness and rudeness.
