I once said I wouldn't buy an xbox to play Halo/Halo2.

Hold on, let me check my T.V. room.......Nope, no Xbox.

Me too. Consoles are a waste of money for just 1 or 2 games.

Yah. PCs FTW! I would never buy my Xbox 360 if all I wanted to do was play Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter or Oblivion (although they're both really great games that will keep you busy for a very long time and they're games I love with a passion that will justify your $400 purchase).

However, there are tons of other things you can do on the Xbox 360 besides gaming. Watch a movie, download arcade games online, download and watch videos, demos, themes, avatars, listen to music, purchase downloadable content online, the list goes on. (Not that you can't do these with a PC, which I'd rather have than a 360 if I was forced to decide, but it's really new for consoles.)
