since the limited edition cases are going to be made of metal, people will think the cases will have more durability so theyll be throwing them around and abuse them cuz its not plastic, but if they use ordanary ink to draw the pictures and stuff, the ink will scrape off so pretty soon u wont be able to see anything, itll just be a silver box!

Firstly, why would anyone thow around thier copy of Halo2 LIMITED EDITION??
Second, I doubt Bungie or MS would settle for anything that would deteriorate quickly for their hallmark title.

is it really a metal box? i thought it was the normal carboard type material like on other games, but just silvery.....hm, yeah, if they use ink on the metal, it should be under a plastic sleeve like other games....

For your musing J. Allard a MS executive predicts with the inclusion of the Limited Edition that Halo 2 will pre-sell 1 million copies.

The LE case is, in fact, true metal. The Halo "O" on the front is stamped, and all color is screened on. It's actually a pretty slick case.

And if you find someone throwing around a "Limited Edition" anything, feel free to smack them upside the head.

not much people talking this late at night...

i wonder if you could kill somebody by beating them in the head with a limited edition halo2 case? its kindof heavy and its probably durable.

I was thinking it'd be like some "special edition" dvds I've purchased in the past--the case is sturdy and nice, and the descriptive page on the back can be peeled off (the way the OXM disc peels off the mag--if you're a subscriber), leaving a nice brushed metal case (or slip-case?) with the raised "2" on the cover (really, do we need ink on such a beautiful specimen of videogame goodness?). Inside the case, I'm imagining the green box we all know and love.
I suppose we won't know for a few (six) months yet.

I think it looks slick... but ive gotta say... this is the first limited special edition of a game that I dont really want that badly. I ususally have to have the special editions... but ive been waiting for Halo 2 for a long time and just want the game. I actually pre-ordered, and payed for in full, my copy back in Feb. or March thinking it was coming out in April or May. So I would probably have to tack on some cash to get the shiney case... but I really dont care that much. Its nice... but after being driven completely friggin insane by this years E3 demos and such... I just want to play the game.

To stay on topic... I think ink is good for cases like that if they need descriptions and smaller text on them. If it were just the Halo or the 2 on the front... then all metal would be better.

Just so you know, the limited edition comes with a second disc with docs, deleted scenes, galleries, outtakes, etc...
It's not just a shiny case!

Bungie actually gave away a limited edition box (yes it was empty) at fanfest this year. Its an awesome box. It actually is a silver colored plastic with a stamped metal front, back, and side. And if you're honestly worried about the "ink" rubbing off, why don't you just put halo 2 in an empty dvd case and put the box somewhere where it won't be damaged?
