As most people know the x-box is out of date, severely out of date. But it still keeps pumping; most of them have new graphics cards and hard-drives that modders put in themselves. But still unlike when Halo pc came out now days the average home computer would top an x-box by 10 to 15 times. Halo looked good on the PC and it played better than the x-box cause you could do more with the controls (maybe that’s just me but still...). The PC uses a ctr (or flat screen but those suck anyhow) monitor which has 10 times the condensation of an HDTV; add anti-alising and aniscopic filtering and its virtually impossible to see a separate pixel. From what I can see The environment and the KARMA will take its toll on the pathetic Pentium 3 chipset equivalent that the x-box has, you can't just cut those out of the game cause that’s pretty much the game. even at 640x400 (lowest resolution that can still resemble something of a shape) the game will run between 10 to 30 fps with an average of 15 for the outdoor maps.

This is the main reason why millions of people pre-ordered Half-Life 2 for the PC, not the x-box. The x-box version will most likely be striped of all its fancy rag doll and particles, and the textures will look like fuzzy lil' paintings like they do on all the other x-box games. I think a chief example of PC to x-box comparison is Rainbow Six 3, Raven Shield. Despite the many problems with the rushed and compatibility of the .INI files, the PC game blew me away, that gun for fps in a Tom Clancy game probably did it for most people. It was one of the headliners like Halo the first to break this new surge in gaming. More than a year later they release Raven Shield for the x-box. I vomited. The textures in the x-box version were so horrid compared to the PC one that you could barley tell he had a face, did I mention faces? Since when do a covert group of secret police delve into combat WITH OUT F---ING KEVLAR!!! OR AN F---ING HELMET!!! No, no, no let’s do this Arnold style with a muscle T and a bandana; let’s hope it’s a bullet proof one.

That’s not my point though; my point is that you could still sell a couple hundred thousand maybe even a few million PC copies (as long as you let people know that they need to have the proper hardware to run it right, since a lot of people complained that the game sucked cause there PC’s sucked). I know Microsoft likes to control the market and it’s desperate to dominate the console gaming world but that’s what is so genius: a PC isn’t a console. And if you want to make some security money (not much but still) you can just not make a version for Linux or the Mac.

Boom, every one has to buy Windows XP, and that alone will cost you about $150 anyhow. Then Magically Microsoft controls the PC gaming market, oh wait, they already do. Try and find a sold computer that doesn’t have XP. Microsoft could run a series of products that would virtually eliminate console gaming at all. Sony will then rush to release its ps3 and boom. Microsoft will already run contracts with the SD-Co. and the ps3 will have crap for games. That year were the consol dies like back from 1999 to 2001, PC gaming will advance in incredible leaps since it isn’t capped by the crappy x-box. Then the rushed ps3 will have all sorts of rushed bugs and Microsoft can just pick and choose the best of the bloomed PC equipment (since the OPSYS is already made for X3) and neatly package it into a little box with some green on it. This might take a month to manufacture maybe even two, but with a reigning PC gaming presence they could cut some pre-releases to get the latest model early, or even set up a contract with a ATI or NVIDIA for a custom beefed up card.

Either way Halo 2 would play better on most of today’s PC’s than on the x-box, and if you were really desperate you could even charge us for online play. And if you still think I’m wrong about the way Halo 2 would run, look at the fact that they were going to release Far Cry for the x-box but it couldn’t run it; and Far Cry came out in march 04’. If I haven’t convinced you please try and think of the fact that Halo was released on the PC and if it had better advertisement it probably would have sold more. Oh yhea, did I mention that you released the first Halo on PC? So what are we supposed to do? Just not know what happens next? That’s kind of a sh-ty thing to do, and as I showed up above how could you loose money, another product that will sell and we all know it.

Hell I’d buy it.

I don't want to say you're wrong... but I don't know how to finish this sentence.

First off, to say MS could eliminate console gaming is just a joke. The reason why console gaming exists is because not everyone drops $1500 on a new computer every other year. Most console gamers don't own top-of-the-line PC's that can run today's games. They dropped $150-200 on an xbox to do that instead. Hardcore gamers probably do own power-rig PC's, but they make up a small percentage of console gamers.

I'm not saying Halo 2 PC won't happen, but Halo Xbox will be better. Which sold better... Halo PC or Halo Xbox? I haven't even looked at the figures, but I think I could guess that Halo Xbox won this by far. Part of this is b/c Halo Xbox was released first, but mostly it's because Halo PC was a completely different game. Maybe the single player was as good or better, but the multiplayer was simply worse (and don't give me the online bit, b/c everyone knows about XBC... or should).

I will admit that the current consoles have gotten a little dated, but that always happens... and yet consoles remain strong. The original Halo was way better than anything the "average PC" could run, and now, three years later, Halo 2 could certainly run better on a good portion of PC's. But what portion of gamers have a network setup so they and their friends could play together whenever they want to.

Finally, linked to that idea, Halo Xbox is just far more easier to play. By this I mean, there are just way more people who are willing to fork out the cash for an Xbox, four controllers and Halo 2 than there are that have four power-rig PC's and a network to play over. I mean, we're talking about $280 vs. $5,000. Top-of-the-line graphics cards alone cost more than an Xbox (which MS loses money on each one sold).

Basically, the reason why Halo 2 will be on the Xbox first, and maybe exclusively, is because it just sells so much better. MS relies on software to make money on the Xbox, and Lord knows they'll be raking in some cash off Halo 2, which will shatter first week release sales record. I wouldn't be surprised if $5 preorders have already netted more money than Halo PC did. I don't think Halo 2 PC is a reach by any means, but don't try to bring down the Xbox or console gaming, or act elitest b/c you have a good PC. From Halo Xbox to Mario Kart to Contra, console games are just plain better, and sales alone will prove this.

No offense to PC gamers, but I really hope Halo 2 does stay exclusively on the XBox. I can see why Halo 1 went to PC/Mac, because thats what it was supposed to be on before Microsoft bought Bungie, and they probably felt that they owed those fans (PC/Mac) something. With Halo 2, I feel that Bungie doesnt owe them (PC/Mac fans) anything, so Microsoft will keep it for XBox, and XBox alone.

and and u cant forget most people who use computers are nerds or 5 year olds so you end getting tked and glitches end up being a strategy. Xbox may not have as much ower as a computer but it is more adaptable and can probably do circles around most AVERAGE COMPUTERS, not the 1000000000 dollar gaming computer that has little lights and lets everyone know your the biggest loser in the world

oh and console has multiplay comp has internet, so yyou are pretty much screwing the people who would want to play splitscreen
