As I was browsing through my latest MMO's site (Pirates of the burning sea, very bungie-esque), I noticed it had something bungie.net didn't. A Wiki. As i see it, adding a wiki to bungie.net could do nothing but good. It would be a community FAQ, a bungie official/history page and a website help section all in one go. By its very nature, a wiki is self-moderating, yet allows total community participation. It is a way to give the community a proper sense of community, rather than the segregation and egotistical fighting we have now. It would also be a way to give a far more complete view of bungie than the site currently gives, aswell as maybe allowing bungie staffers to give us input, maybe on sections of the game they made, how they made them and how they work. So as I see it, we have nothing to lose adding a wiki to the site.

So how about it Achronos, will we ever see a http://www.bungie.net/wiki ?

Send Achronos a personal message, or change the title of your post to attract his specific attention.

Oh, and I'd cut that wiki like mad. We all would, together we know tons about Bungie.

EDIT 2: Or there could be a specific group of trusted people who receive proposed edits to the Wiki, and the group would have to approve it then either the group or Achronos could edit it. I don't know, perhaps I am getting ahead of myself.

5/5 Stars - Kritz.net

At the risk of making people look elites, I think the editing should be limited on some level.

Maybe everyone can start with the ability to edit, but if they don't contribute anything worthwhile they can have their ability removed.

Or we could have it so you have to reach a certain (hidden or moderator approved) rank (Like theme masters) in order to have the ability to edit. This would either come with a general understanding of the community, or strong Bungie / Bungie game knowledge.

Good idea, I'd love to see it work.

o.O

Anyways, that would be a great idea...I just hope the stupidity of the masses wouldn't ruin it.

Chances are he'll read it either way. From what I understand Achronos reads a lot of the forums.

This sounds like a good idea in theory, but I sense that some people might abuse it.

While it may be abused, i believe the wiki software has an option that requires you to be registered to edit and create articles and it has many systems to prevent vandalism and abuse, and quickly delete or rectify it if it does happen. I really do think it is managable to run a fully-open bungie.net wiki, as long as it requires registration.

Seems like Bungie.net decided to pop up with another glitch, and that's the first time I saw that certain one.

Sad, isn't it? Oh well, I have faith in the web team, they kick ass. It'll get fixed as soon as possible. If this happens again, and one of us sees it, report it.

Heres how I think it should look:

"The members of Bungie.net are really cool. Especially Ciaran. Moderators are Uber cool, almost as much as Ciaran..."

I always wanted to do something like that for a guide to Bungie games like Marathon (See this) but I figured I probably wouldn't get much help.

Perhaps if you went on to Myth/Marathon Jumpers ect. you may get some help. A joint project perhaps?

Marathon Jumpers is close to being dead (Last post was on August 18th) and I know nothing about Myth so I couldn't do much. Maybe if I could get help from them I would consider it.....

It can't be stopped. Unless technology leaps forward 14 years or Achronos gets all of Bungie.net on one server rather than four (roughly) then there will always be some lag between servers. Its the same problem as the message icon reapearing.

Didn't think of that. I already messaged him about it. Oh well, no harm done. But I like the Wiki idea.
