There is one thing that Alienware did that most companies do not. And that is, they will load the OS and optimize the system and drivers for the games that you play. I don't know if they still do this, especially since Dell owns it now.

Falcon has got the machines that are blowing the doors off everything else out there. The case is even cooler because it the two-tone paint that changes color depending on the light reflection. There probably a word for it I just don't know what it is called.

Dell PCs are ok, but never ever the way to go if your a gamer.

It will always cost less to custom build one, because the Dell gaming machines are either cut down in some way, or too expensive.

And people are forgetting the stupid amount of CPU raping software all dells come preinstalled with. Like AOL crap for starters.

Building a PC yourself isnt hard, it may look complicated inside, but its not at all.

The hardest part about building a PC is choosing the parts and making sure its all compatible. For example, making sure your PSU will suit your motherboard. You can get plenty of help from people online though.

Oh, well, my Dell is my dream gaming rig. I was considering getting an XPS with a 12"(XPS M1210), but then 1 of the guys at Dell said that the XPS series was really the name and design. I got an Inspiron laptop with some of the same specs(and some ALOT better) for $2000 less than it was on the XPS(When I configured all the stuff on the XPS, the total was $4400.00)

P.S.Dell even threw in a free offer for a laptop skin. I chose a Louisville Cardinals skin for my laptop, and when I put it on, it looked cool! By the way, a skin is a large sticker that you put on the back of your laptop(The skin covers the whole back of the laptop).

The paint you're referring to I believe is called Chameleon or something like that.

I myself prefer Voodoo over Falcon-NW. Nothing personal, it's just I subscribe to Rahul Sood's blog (the founder/owner of Voodoo) and a lot of the systems that Voodoo makes are very innovative. Either way you go though, you're gonna get an awesome experience from either Falcon-NW or Voodoo. I think some people have a misconception about Dell as a company. They are designed for a specific market, and they do exactly what they are supposed to do with that market. Dell doesnt suck, it just sucks for what you want it to do. Do you know how many companies buy tons and tons of dell merchandise? Neither do I, but I'm sure its a big number. Dells however are not for gaming, even their XPS line. A gaming computer is more than just high end parts. Companies like Voodoo and Falcon tweak every single part of the system to make it run perfectly. Every single detail is cared after.

This is the inside of a Falcon Mach V Quad-SLi system (4 graphics processors) with water cooling that was sent for a review to TH.

p.s. to the guy who said Alienwares are expensive for a spiffy case, I don't think thats true because their cases are made of plastic. Voodoo and Falcon-NW use all aluminum cases.

Cool. I seem to remember Apple doing that a while back with the older Powerbooks (right before the Powerbooks went aluminum, I believe). They had a sort of "pocket" where you could slide a picture or something of your choice underneath.

Though you can get good pre-built computers from companies, it's better to make one yourself. Voodoo, Alienware, iBuyPower, etc. can make good PCs, but I'd rather upgrade the one I have.

The only exception is if you want a laptop. Then, and only then should you buy an assembled notebook from a company.

It's building, or it's iBuyPower for me. No complaints yet for the various people I've built comps for.

$6000 comp? Is that even possible without quad GPU's? Oh right, Alienware, should've known.

Then again you could save up for Nvidia's new $18000 GFX card. Yes, $18000, no typo.
