in the e3 movie (2003) he gets given the second smg by another soldier, he then puts both of them away. latter on he pulls both of them back out. this seemed normal at the time but now after seeing the e3 2004 movie this is different, or is it??????? maybe they changed the system since then or can u actually store your dual weaponsin ur backpack???

In a way you have 3 weapons there. It isn't different. Dual wielding counts as one weapon (I think) and as far as I know you can store them.

Most people who used dual weilding at E3 2004, said that they could never tell whether the second weapon was dropped or put away in all of the reviews at ign and places.

When you dual wielded, your second weapon was dropped. Further, you'd drop your left gun if you tried to pick up another gun, or tried to melee.

They mentioned that when you switched to the other weapons, you drop a duel weilded weapon... How do you pick which weapon to drop?

any way of switching which weapons your hands are using?

The left weapon is what drops, it's not up to you to choose which weapon is replaced. Unless Bungie changes the current system, there'll be a little juggling act when someone wants to completely change their weapon combination, say, pressing melee to drop the left weapon, switching your right gun with the gun you want on the right, then picking up your left gun again.

I hope this is as complicated as the combat system goes...

This is from the FAQ,

You can stop dual wielding at any time by pressing melee attack (discards extra weapon) or by pressing Y to switch to your secondary weapon.
Pressing Y sounds like it switches to the weapon on your back.
