While all of the Halo-loving Mac users hope that H2 Mac will become a reality, we don't really know if it will ever happen. Here's the official Bunige word on the matter.

Q
What systems is Halo 2 for Windows Vista available for?
A
As the name suggests, Halo 2 Vista will be brought to PCs with Windows Vista only. Of course you can always purchase Halo 2 for your Xbox or Xbox 360. There are currently no plans to bring Halo 2 to Mac, PlayStation 9 or the Commodore 64.

Link to H2V FAQ.

Computer: Power Mac G5 CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (2.2) Number Of CPUs: 2 CPU Speed: 1.8 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 1.25 GB Bus Speed: 900 MHz

ATi Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition

Since Halo2 Vista is in theory, (we hope), going to be a state of the art fps, made to run on above average PCs capable of running Vista, it's fair to assume that it would not be made to run on older Macs, either.

All new Macs have Intel processors and can run Windows, (native, not an emulation). I assume at least the higher end Macs will be Vista capable, so all you'll have to do is install Vista on your Intel Mac and Halo2 Vista will run– no need for a port.

Last i checked, it was halo 2 vista and i beleive vista is still a microsoft product. So unless microsoft writes Mac OS then it's for windows. I mean you can run windows on a mac. You can also light yourself on fire.

I have something to comment on the last two posts.

Number one, Timesplitters3 said that high end macs have "16bg" of RAM, if you meant 16 gigabytes (GB) then you must be mistaken. I've never heard of a comercially available desktop with 16 GB of RAM. Anything over 1 - 1.5 GB is overkill. Also, your spelling and grammar is atrocious. I don't know how I even managed to piece together the gist of that post.

Spartan117atHalo, your post is absolute nonsense.

No really, I did not know that...

So unless microsoft writes Mac OS then it's for windows. I mean you can run windows on a mac..

What he was saying is that the new macs can run BOTH windows and Mac OS. So it would be only a matter of buying Vista and installing it on your mac to play Halo2Vista. Obviously you missed the memo.

idiocy is like a fireworks display. It's fun to watch from a distance.

I'm gunna step back and watch you now. Cuz your the biggest damn fireworks display I've ever seen.

Even though your obviously so cool and havent "heard" of commercially available computers using 16 gb's of RAM, I am using a mac pro with..OMG 16 gb's of RAM! Linky Oh and just run vista on Boot Camp, thats what I plan on doing for H2V.

My god, that is a killer Mac. I've always said that Mac hardware is better than PC's, it just has a poorly designed operating system and a lack of good software for it.

LOL! Just wait until DX10 comes out. That'll put the non-upgradable Mac in the outdated-obsolete section in time.

16 GB of ram, well, I stand corrected. I apologize because I'm not a mac user.

BTW, 16 GB is serious overkill. What would that be good for? Running real time weather simulations? And people say Vista is only to squeeze every last penny out of the consumer base...

Some graphics programs use lots of ram. You can never be too rich, too thin or have too much ram.

haha yea, seriously get with the times, all the new Intel macs can run windows and windows vista, and they do it a hell of a lot better than a normal pc, it is possible to have 16gb of ram in a mac pro, some programs use all of that memory especially on 4 monitors, so in the end, halo 2 vista will run on a mac as long as its intel based, end of discussion, mods please lock this.
