In honor of the upcoming 10th Anniversary of Marathon, I've created a bit of new artwork. It's designed to be printed as a poster, and I hope to get permission from the fine folks at Bungie and/or MS to produce a smallish print run to celebrate the date.

The poster is up at my website; direct linkage:

Or you can browse from the main page:

I hope you guys like it!

I saw you had some screenshots from the marathon unreal mod. How is it?? is it mulitplayer only or what?

Belsebub, Marathon:Resurrection is really, really good. It sucks very little.

The current publicly-available build is a recreation of the original Marathon demo, with single-player levels and everything. And behind the scenes they're workiing hard to recreate the whole single-player campaign. That's a lot of mapping and programmiing, and they can use all the help they can get.

So if anyone has any UnrealEd skills sitting around unused, please donat them to the cause!

Marathon:Resurrection Mod

Oh, and thanks for the comments guys!

Oh, hey you're the guy that made that art?, cool.. I've used a couple as Desktop pics for the last few months..
It was a real treat stumbling into them doing a random net search one day, early this year.

Wow, man, you've inspired me. I've just started some rough sketches that I hope will turn out as well as those. Amazing work!

That's amazing work! I would like to know where you got the Marathon posters framed that you have on the website. Dimensions would be really nice as well. I would really like to be able to put some of those in my room. Keep up the good work!

Thanks again all...

Baerdog, those posters were printed for the estimable Mr. Luis Wu, to commemorate his visit to our fair city. he had them framed himself (which was very flattering).

Since I don't own the rights to any of the characters settings, etc. I can't exactly go around printing and selling posters... but I do plan to ask for permission to do a limited run of at least one, maybe more of the pieces around the 10th anniversary.

If I get the go-ahead I'll post something on this board.

SurgeK, glad to hear you're inspired to do some art of your own. Post it when you're done, man, post it when you're done!

If you take another peek at the poster, you might be able to work that out for yourself.

Oh, and remember to include b.net in your celebrations - we may have something up our sleeves as well...

Heh - I didn't see that, thanks for pointing it out... I'll blame the fact that dates are done differently in australia - dd/mm/yy :P

Yeah, we do the dates dd/mm/yy too in my country...

Oh wait, it's the same country. =)

I spose I'm not being fair, since I already knew the release date, so I could immediately recognise what the numbers mean. :)

Fine! I blame the fact that I am in tassie then (not that my living in tasmania has any relevance to my ability to recognise dates) :P

Heh - I thought they were simply there for decoration, like room numbers or something ;)

Great work, Anaphiel. Wonderful job capturing mood and atmosphere. Makes me wish I could paint.
