One of the reasons they don't delete threats is so that people know why they were locked. If they just see their thread gone, they often make "Where did my thread go" or just start the same thread again.

Trailer Park Boys ~ One of the best Canadian made comedies ever.

I am extremly annoyed with all the locked threads in the Bungie Forums. When I want to look at the forums, all the time I'm forced to read the locked thread titles, which some can be offending.

Making locked threads invisible or deleted will make the forums easier to read, and find topics for that type of discussion.

Did Bungie ever considering doing this? Is it possible?

Thanks for your time

I agree with you.

Too many people are making threads in the wrong place. In the Underground, people keep creating threads that are related to either Halo 1, 2, or 3 when there's a sticky that clearly says "THIS IS NOT A HALO BOARD".

The reason you see so many locked threads is because the forums like the Underground and Septagon move so slowly.

We are simply using the same method that is being employed in the H3 forum except the threads arent buried as quick. If we deleted every thread though, people would have no idea what is lockable/bannable.

Phrog pilots, reckless and free. We would strap into our birds, set the engines on fire, and leave these earthly bonds with a chorus of WHOP WHOP WHOP. Akin to beating your chest and howling in defiance at the rest of the world.

This is appropriate for The Septagon because it is Bungie.net site related. No problem on the confusion though.

Ashwalker makes a good point about some members repeating their thread or asking where it went when it gets deleted. Some of the other benefits are that it allows other members to see what types of topics are not permitted or what rules have been violated. Locked topics can be good learning tools for new members. It can also benefit a forum if members know a moderator is around.

If a locked topic has an offensive title that hasn't been edited, PM a moderator and ask if it could be changed. We try to avoid people becoming offended if we can help it. :)
