I personaly think that it is only for multiplayer, because in 2003's e3, the energy sword is just like the one in Halo 1. the one that we saw recently is very different. I think that you cant have any type of sword in single player.

Don't be so sure. Keep in mind that the sword you saw last year is, in fact, a year old.It wouldn't surprise me if there is some point in the campaign where you end up with a Covenant sword.
Probably the main reason for it looking different is that they need to cut down on graphics in multiplayer so it won't lag.
It doesnt seem like something that would fit in to one player
Actually it is probaly because , under normal circumstances, a whole year's work goes on in a year and , under normal circumstances, people do stuff when they are working, like redesighning the sword. ;-)
trust me, there are plenty of other things they could "work" on
Im ashamed of myself :(
I hope they didn't change the way the plasma sword looks... the ones in Halo 1 and E3 2k3 looked so badass... like they were actually plasma... The ones from this years e3 demo just looked like blue glass... didn't have that glow to it to make it look like it wasn't really even a sword, but a beam of energy.
That is what it is suposed to be. A energy sword.
yeah check this thread plasma/energy sword debate
Yeah I know, I'm saying in the new demo it didn't look like a beam of energy, but just a piece of blue glass.
