Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

Forget that, I'm going for the 1GB GeForce 8 Series when it comes out. I should have a job by then.

Halo 2 for Xbox will suck compared to the PC version. The min sys requirments should be similar to the ones for Oblivion, if not more.

Err no becuase you can run Halo with 32mb of memory. Halo is not gonna be 512mb or 256mb im shooting for a 128mb card min requirement since oblivion's minumium is 128mb I dont think Halo2 is gonna be any more graphic intence my statement stands. You have failed too my friend. Take SwKotor for instance the graphics look better on a 64mb card then an Xbox's 128mb card. Im not trying to act smart neither are you im 12 acting smart is beyond my reach :p

yeah, i agree. a 512mb card is overkill, and it will continue to be overkill. 2gb of ram will be overkill, unless u want to run halo 2 on full specs, 1600x1200

Uhh, a 512 card is not overkill and 2GB of RAM is almost a standard nowadays. The only thing is that the original Halo did not consume so much Video Memory, but Halo 2 was an Xbox system hog, I'm sure.

I would use 512MB IMO, that way you have more then required.

I would also increase your RAM to maybe at least 2-4GB

I need a new mobo and more ram, I got 500MB RAM and 64MB intel integrated chipset, halo 2 won't run that ha ha

anything over 2gb for ram is overkill. i have trouble filling my 1gb, i can only get to about 75%, but i usually stay i over 50% so 512 would not work for me.

and i doubt u have 500mb of ram, more likely 512

ok 502 MB :O

He has no clue what he's talking about. 512 System RAM yes, but a 7800 with 256 can handle it for sure.

With AGP, get a 7800GS

502 MB means your system is using up 10 MB of RAM, you should lower your page file usage and VRAM.

SWKotoR, looks better on a 64Mb card in a PC than the 128Mb card on the Xbox because PC graphics are and will always be better than Xbox.

And I wasn't saying YOU were tring to act smart, I was saying that to the guy ABOVE you. You just posted your post while I was stil creating mine.

That hurts, man. That hurts. I still dissagree.

And the size of the video memory on the Xbox is less than 64 megabytes, not 128. Like, I said, it's using a shared memory architechture.

And it's not going to use DirectX 10.

its amazing some people can actually say that its going to requiest a 512mb card as a minimum for your card. It will probably say 128mb and recommend 256. Although, since there are sooooooo many different 256mb cards, that really aint specific, from the 9200, to the 7900GT, both 256mb.

im guessing it will put 768mb ram as a min for sysmem.

2GB of ram standard? lol.2gb of ram is probably somewhere near the top 1% of comps.

however with my comp ill have core 2 duo E6300, 2 x 7900GT, 2gb of 533mhz ddr2 ram.

pwnt.

2 GB of ram isn't really that uncommon. I bought a laptop last summer for a little under $2000 with 1 GB. Bad thing is the 64 mb ATI mobility card (drivers? What drivers?) and less than stellar performance of my "2.0"Ghz Intel processor.

I have to agree with nessy, there aren't many 512 cards out there at the moment, and halo 2 isn't looking that amazing.

I dug these requirements that I thought up for halo 2 PC a long while ago, and a bunch of people agreed with me on it:

Here is what I feel the requirements be:

Required:
Windows(R): Vista - 512 MB RAM
Processor: Pentium 4 2.3 GHZ or equivalent
Hard Drive: 2.0 GB (3.5 for developer software)
Video Card: 128 MB/T&L capable
Online/Multiplayer: 56.6 kbps modem or LAN; broadband to run a server
Other: Directx 9.0c, 8x DVD, Sound Card, & speakers/headphones

Recommended:
Windows(R): Vista -1 GB RAM
Processor: Pentium 4 3.0 GHZ or equivalent
Hard Drive: 2.0 GB (3.5 for developer software)
Video Card: 256 MB/T&L capable
Online/Multiplayer: LAN or Broadband; DSL (high) or more to run a server
Other: Directx 10.0, 8x DVD, Sound Card, & speakers/headphones

*Note, I changed the system requirements from directly off the retail box and used those.*
