ok.. i have two xboxs connected via an ethernet cable and for some reason the xboxs do not seem to aknowledge each other, am i doing something wrong?? What do I have to do differently to get this lan to work?? HELP ME!!

THis happened to me when I was trying to play system link on Mech Assault. The wouldn't find each other.

Okay, so make sure both the xboxs are on at the same time. I don't think it will pick up if one was all of a sudden turned on. Maybe it does. Hope it helps. Which it probably doesn't.

Are you using a crossover cable? An ethernet patch cable won't work.

fatso is right, you need an ethernet crossover cable. I had the same problem

if you dont have a crossover cable, connect the two boxes thru a router

The Microsoft link cable is just a crossover cable. Like they said, if you don't have the link cable and only normal ethernet cables, use a router. If no router is available, just have to break down and get a Microsoft Link cable. Or you can make your own :D

This same thing happend to me. ethernet cords don't work you need a link cable from microsoft or what ever that crossover cable is ... well im the 10th person that said that so im pretty sure you have figured it out by now.

The man makes an excellent point.....

yeah, you either need a crossover cable(usually twenty dollars.), or a router. Pick the one that works for you, plug 'em together and enjoy.

i can honestly say this is the first time in my life ive heard somebody call someone else a "n00b" because they didnt use a crossover cable.

Well if you have a switch cable, then you don't need a router, tard.

AND if your handy( or low on cash) you can convert your patch cable to a switch, you just need to switch some of the wires. look up "making a patch cable" in google.
