Whenever I try to play Halo or Halo CE it gets past the splash screen, and in a few seconds
a little box pops up saying:

A problem occured instalizing DirectDraw. Hardware acceleration may be disabled, please run DXDIAG.

Any help will be appeciated!

P.S. I already tried reinstalling it 3 times and nothing happened.

I wonder if the Wolf thinks the Moon listens when he howls at it.

well. the first thing you need to do is to make sure all your drivers are up to date.system specs?

go to controll panel then go to system. then look under the general tab and it should tell you your OS , processor, RAM, and your video card,

well that's one thing. integrated cards to be honest, suck. the best thing yo could do is go [url=http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp]here[/ url] click on graphics driver then geforce and Tnt2 and click on your operating system. then you download and install the driver and hopefully that will fix your problem, But since you are using an integrated card your graphics will SUK. If it still doesnt fix it then you need to get an actual video card. you are using an integrated chip which is the card that is built into the motherboard and those always suck.

There you go. You have a crappy GPU. You should upgrade.

But I think your problem can be fixed by manually downloading the patch here.

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

Ouch, an integrated MX GPU. I can go get the GeForce MX 4000 as a card for about 30 bucks.
Seriously, just go buy a new card. You'll be much better that way. I recommend the GeForce 6800 if you're on a budget, but if you're rich, go for the Radeon X1900.

To check/set hardware accelleration on your computer, right click the desktop, go to Properties, go to the Settings tab, then click Advanced, then go to the Troubleshoot tab, and there should be a slider bar that lets you set the level of hardware accelleration.

If it is off, however it got turned off is pretty strange.

If it was an unsupported card it would tell you.

Xfire: zzzyax
Halo 3/XBL: Zzzyax

if its telling you to run DxDiag... then do it... (start>run, type "DxDiag" [without quotes] and it runs the direct x diagnostic tool)

First off, don't double post, especially if it's the same thing you've already said. Makes you look like an idiot.

Second, go to This Site

It has lots of good information on fixing any problems with Halo.
