Ok, got fraps, and made a 2 min odd vid. Mistake. Very nice, but its 1.49 gig. Ouch. not exactly sendable.

What can I do to make it less? I know I'll have to record it again, but can I have some guidelines?

For example, what FPS should I set it at? Dont want it looking crap, but want to reduce the size.

Obviously 30 FPS is waaay too much.

I'll also take out the sound, thats not needed.

Would lowering the res in halo make a difference?

Anything else to reduce the size?

you could import and save it as a movie in windows movie maker, but *depending on the bitrate you set* the quality will go down. On the other hand, it will be much smaller.

30fps, 800x600, bob's your uncle.

That said, if you recorded a game running at less than 30fps then play the video back at 30fps, it'll look jerky and laggy, but it's halo pc, so chances are no one will notice.

It's 1.5GB because it's completely uncompressed video...completely uncompressed.

Using Windows Media Encoder or Windows Movie Maker will let you set a file size, bit rate and resolution that'll make your 2 minute vid around 20-40 megabytes.

Did you save it as something other than .wmv or .mov?
