I used HMTv3.5 to mod the blood gulch map, and when i try to play it wont let me..it says something like "Halo has detected that a file is corrupt".. how can i get it to work? if i try to make a game it wont let me click blood gulch. and when i try to make a game for halo custom edition, it tells me that the map you have chosen is not a valid halo map.

I know about HMT. That simply means you messed up the map beyond repair and had better hope you have a backup. As for Halo CE, HMT doesn't support CE maps. There is a map editor I know of that supports CE as well as normal Halo maps, but I hesitate giving a link to it for it also can mod Halo and Halo 2 Xbox.

True, but I don't think the mods would like it if I posted a Xbox modder.

Good point. The one I am reffering to is more like a complex version of HMT.

HMT is short for Halo Moding Tool, which is a third party program designed to mod Halo PC maps, not custom edition maps. I directed him to halomods.com because they have people who are experianced in hmt.

and dont nag at someone for bumping halfway into a conversation when the bump was before said conversation

ok first rule of modding

BACK UP YOUR FILES!

Since you didnt do this you need to re-instal that is the answer to your question.

As how to back you just copy the map folder to somewhere else and when a file goes corrupt you replace it.

You have to have WinRar or some other program that open rar files.

He does not have to re-instal. Go to my computer. Right click on Halo(The disc has to be in the CD Drive) click on open. Now you have to click on FilesCab and open it. Now there should be Cab1, Cab2 etc. Open Cab2 and extract the blood gulch file somewhere(Have to go thru the cab and map folders then you should see the map). Then when you have extracted it put it in the maps folder and it should be fixed.(make sure the broken file was deleted)

I hope you understand this. LOL
Good Luck!

I may actually be the only one here who knows what's wrong.
You need to press the 'Close Map FIle' button at the bottom of the list of tags before running Halo.
