The new theme for Halo2Vista.net is up and the site is starting to form up into a community.

I would like to just state openly that this is kind of an awkward "establishment" phase between now and when Halo 2 Vista is released. I welcome the posting of HaloCE and other stuff on this site, but it's obvious that this content is being posted moreso in places where the HaloCE modder has posted his content before.

What we're trying to accomplish right now is to establish the website and forums and a member base so that 4 months from now, when Halo 2 Vista is released, we can hit the ground running.

But "Four months from now?" you might say. "That seems awfully far away." It's a lot closer than you think. Between now and then I guarantee you we will be basking in pre-release information, updates, and hype.

I stress that this is a Halo forum set up by a fellow Halo modder and fanatic. I know you and your needs; I'm one of you. I'm going to do this right.

So basically, it's a place where that the current CE community will migrate to and work with H2V from the start and there on. I'm sure that the current CE community would like to stay at GBX, but everyone has doubts that they'll keep the CE boards up if it turns into a bunch of H2V discussion. There, people new to the engine will be able to get help from experienced mappers and be able to show their progress. You'll also be able to get the latest updates on other projects going on in the community as they are posted there.

If you're interested in the custom content features of H2V, then go ahead and sign up. Go to the Halo 2 Vista General board and make a thread saying you're interested in making stuff for H2V and you'd like to start learning about the tools in CE to get a head start. Tell them I sent you and it should make things happier.

I've allready noticed a few people from here signing up there, so I wanted to spread the word to give everyone a good informed opportunity to join up.

Join the Modacity Forums - a community focusing on the modding abilities of Halo PC, Halo CE, and Halo 2 PC.

Heh, Zeph, I didn't know you had posted here until I checked out the referral stats and found out that 15% of today's visitors have come from Bungie.net. I'm surprised no one has posted in here yet, especially being that many people are demanding a Halo 2 forum on Bungie.net.

Anyway, being one who helped with setting this website up, I (and the other members) welcome you to this new H2V community. I guess one other reason Zeph posted this here is because the majority of the active members of The Maw forum are mature enough to participate in building the new community. Unfortunately, the Bungie forums have earned a poor reputation due to the first time posters in the other forums who don't bother to search for posting, and post the first things which come to their minds, even if they are the dumbest things ever heard of. So, if anyone wants to participate, you're more than welcome to join! =D

If H2V has better netcode, I'm all up for creating HaloCE for it, as well as some other mods to balance it in my opinion.

Come check out http://www.modacity.net

H2Vista is shaping up to be a great game for custom content, at least from what has been stated so far. I'm hoping that this site will be a great place for the custom aspect of the game.
