If it's that much of a concern, you could always import a US Xbox along with the game. I imported a Japanese Xbox months ago so I could play Otogi 2. And if you're worried about your TV being able to display an NTSC signal, I wouldn't be too concerned about it. My TV can display both PAL and NTSC signals, and it's nothing fancy at all. Just a $300 Sony Trinitron.
I agree that it sucks for people living outside the US, and I feel for you, I really do. But taking an attitude of "If I can't have it neither should you" is just plain childish. I won't go into the Japanese gaming argument, as it's already been glossed over numerous times.
Also, to the person who made the Lord of the Rings argument, that movie premiered in New Zealand, where it was filmed. So we did have to wait in the US, just like you folks will unfortunately probably have to do now.
