I don't think the quality of Halo will vary depending on how much fans ask for a demo disk. Heck, I don't think Bungie pays that much attention to us at all, and for good reason.
As for "we deserve a demo disk" thinking, ultimately Bungie doesn't owe the fans anything. It would be nice if they supported us with the little bonuses like weekly updates and whatnot, but that's out of their own feelings of gratitude. As for the earlier arguments against thinking that we deserve it, I think most of you have the wrong idea about Bungie's motivation. Halo2 is by no means a charity work for the fans. Bungie gets paid for this and they're going to make plenty of money, with all the hype that's being generated, on Halo2. They aren't making the game the best it can be because they love the fans (although that may be a little extra for the programmers), but rather because they'll make more money that way. We aren't owed anything by Bungie, but it is in their best interest to appease the fans so they buy their product and fill their wallets.
