C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe" -novideo -14That doesn't need to be done - Halo automagically picks the correct version of Pixel Shaders for your card.
well ha i have proved you all wrong. Nvidia said that the driver is too up-todate for this game and they gave me a patch to install to get older games to work so :-P and applogies would be accepted for calling me and my friends stupid. Thnk you [Edited on 5/24/2004 8:33:07 AM]
I don't believe you. In fact, I have half a mind to e-mail NVIDIA myself and ask about the GeForce 4 MX's support for PS2.0.EDIT: http://www.sparkle.com.tw/html/product/nvidia/sp7300m4.htmNow do you believe us? It's a DirectX 8 card, and PS2.0 (needed for anisotropic filtering) came in with DirectX 9.[Edited on 5/24/2004 10:01:25 AM]
ha it works so :-P and i did it without your help.
It would be pretty difficult to contact NVIDIA too, seeing as how they don't have a public tech support line. But I, as I'm sure many others would too, would like to see proof of this, in the form of a screenshot of the video menu, and a screenshot of your DirectX graphics tab.
im not posting in this topic until i have a full appologey from you. [Edited on 5/24/2004 10:12:01 AM]
Well, I didn't actually call either you or your friend stupid. All I said was:Your friend obviously knows nothing about 3D cards if he thinks the MX is good.
Yea, that's what I had. I recently bought an Radeon 9800 Pro, and that has all of the stuff you need. Of course, if you are worrying about money, you might not want to get what I have. I suggest a real GeForce 4.
No, the real GeForce 4 isn't a DX9/PS2.0 card either.
A GeforceFX or Radeon 9600 and up will help run Halo PC with acceptable performances but from all the complains and comments I heard, the Radeon 9800 pro or non-pro or higher will give you the performances you want.[Edited on 5/24/2004 5:17:54 PM]
