This is not something that should have happened.
yes, the halogen crew should've asked permission before using the halo universe for a game.
but that was no reason for microsoft to shut them down. there could have been other thing that they could have done first.
Personally, i enjoy modding games, and if i ever choose to mod a game, i will never ever show any progress online. Microsoft is a major corporation, and it has absolutely nothing at all that could have detered sales from their products.
If they shut down halogen, they should shut down all machinima clans. every single fan fiction writer, and everybody in the community that speculates about halo 3 in the least.
Fans of a great game franchise were simply showing how much they enjoyed the game, and were willing to put in hard work into showing that they did in fact enjoy it.
I've followed halogens news for quite some time.
I cannot even play command and conquer on my computer, but the progress was fun to see, and looked like it was gonna be something fun to see.
