Bungie has already started working on a forum search feature...I'm sure it will be implemented soon.

It's when you post the same topic in multiple forums.

I agree. A search could stop a lot of repeat posts too, and good for starting the development already of the search already.. Also on my wishlist is some way to track the threads you post in, and more posts per page. I say both of these because in the two months ive been a member, there have been at least 50 pages of new threads, and a large portion repeat topics, such as the infamous Favorite Gun/Map/Vehicle, new Gun/Map/Vehicle you are looking forward too, design your own Gun/Map/Vehicle, Best halo moment, Best moment that might or might not happen in Halo 2, The idea that maybe forerunners are
A Humans
B Old Covenant
C Stone Cold Steve Austin
D Jedi

I would like to have one thread each of these, and if anyone makes a thread about them, post their idea in the appropriate thread and delete there's.

Like stosh said the b.net staff said they are working on trying to get a search option, and as for more posts per page I think its fine the way it is, and for tracking the threads you post in, while I gues that might be helpful, thats a bit of a long shot and that might just spoil us.

I laughed hard at that one--I hadn't seen it before. I have a friend who calls me Stone Cold (bald+goatee).

On topic: I agree, a search feature of some kind will be great. I've often come back to either the Septagon or (more often) the Underground and tried to find a thread I've posted on only to give up because my post was swallowed in a flood. I'd like to be able to bookmark my posts in my profile here on Bungie.net, so if anyone looked at my profile they could also see where and what I've posted to have a better idea who I am.

On a similar topic, would there be a way to show who is online at any given time in these forums (if it's all ready there, I've missed it)? I know the 7th Column Chapters have this, but often I find myself in my chapters and I'm not listed as being online (or does that list not show the individual who's viewing the page for some reason?). A good example of this feature can be found at www.h2g2.com--it's the BBC community for the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. You can click a link and it brings up a window (again with the popups!) listing everyone online and a (new) next to the new users.

Thanks again for the laugh.

I don't think an "who's online" list would be a good idea. I think what would be better would be a "buddy list" sort of thing, so you can see who is online out of your "buddies". That would mean the list isn't several pages long at any one time. :)

Good point. I guess it's never been much of an issue on h2g2, since there are never more than 40 people online at any given time.

I recquire a "Watch this thread" option. It could be a button right next to the "Reply" and "Msg User" buttons. I don't know about you, but I post alot.. too much, perhaps.. and it's hard to remember what I've posted in.

The only way you're going to stop people from repeating topics is to make the forum completely run by moderators. Like at this other forum I go to.. there's SO many people active, that the moderators are the only ones capable of creating a thread. It's good and bad. It's bad 'cause it eliminates Member interactivity. BUT I think it's good 'cause it weeds out the people who are too lazy to read through and find their answer, rather than sign up, post it, and get flamed for re-posting something that was said/asked two pages before. Whud'ya think? ;D
