I really think everybody should read the books. Not to find answers to Halo but to read great and exciting novels that show you what multiple Spartans are capable of. You know what they say kids, reading is power!

ok theres a couple of things id like to point out /ask about

1. someone said a pickle is an airforce term for an unguided bomb - couldnt that just be MC since hes unguided and makes a hell'va lot of damage?

2. Is it true that MCs name is "John" i heard someone saying about reading it in the books??

3. Is the pelican in the E3 video different to the one in halo since is has two pilots???

4. Will the Elites be easier/harder to kill than the brutes

1. Yes, his name is "John", designated "John, Spartan 117"

2. The origional pelican was smaller, which adds a better sense of feel to the newer ones. If you notice the E3 trailer, the pelicans wings (Stubs, as I call el) are flexible and are used as landing gear for hovering and such. There are a lot of changes. The one I'd like to see, but probably wont, is a pelican in multiplayer with a chain gun mounted on the back for a gunner (what else? heh!) and some weapons mounted to the "stubs" or another part of the vehicle for the driver/co-pilot to fire. It would be the ultimate troop-transport weapon for CTF on HUGE maps.

3. Im not sure about the Elites and Brutes. OXM's recent trip to bungie studios left the statement that this time, armor colors wont just verify status, but will determine the armor's resistance to different weapons. So we may have to better strategize which weapons we use on which elite. As for the brutes, they're armored to the hilt! Bungie made it clear to OXM that even the grunts will be more formidible this time around, so it's not going to be a matter of who's harder to kill, it's going to be a question of knowing which enemy to take down first based on their strengths and weaknesses. Elites and Brutes will be difficult, but based on the AI's new strategic fighting and team-tactic patterns, it may be a matter of which enemy seems the most formidible based on the situation, and what's in your inventory.

oh i can just see that now a pelican in mutliplayer, How about being able to kill the pilot and watch it drop and skid across the floor, also just imagine what the "board" animation would be like! Just trying think about elites flying a pelican makes me feel all dizzy. and perhaps on an even bigger level they could add 4 or 5 now that would make my day!

Actually thinking about it for larger levels how about larger vechicles hmm a 10 metre high warthog would look so funny if a little stupid probably even more funny if it could do a halo warthog jump hehe.

hey i hear the brute weapon was a slugthrower and a new covenant weapon is the carbine. like a really powerful battle rifle almost like a sniper rifle.

Speaking of the Carbine, they say it's like the battle rifle, but a bit more powerful. I think it'd be awesome if they had a small plasma explosive built into every carbine shell. When it hits, Boom! Punchy! (Like A Ballistic Shell) Then again, I'm only ranting again........

True, but when you read about the covenant, they're quite arrogant, and to see them cutting thier weapons down to our level would be more of an arrogant "challenge" to them. I have a feeling though, judging by it's barrel size, that once most people have gotten thier hands on the slug thrower, the poor shotgun is gonna take a second-row seat. Good or bad, the carbine looks -blam!-in!

I agree with you, i beleive that the grenades in the original halo didn't cause enough damage, i would like to see a more powerful grenade in halo 2....
( ROCK N ROLL ALL DAY PARTY ALL NIGHT )

The grenades do enough damage. If grenades were one hit KO then multiplayer would be so stupid. Grenade spamming would be so cheap.

I agree with with 717. The grenades in Halo were so commonly used that everybody used them at any chance they got. People have no skill when they are about to die and leave a grenade for you. Mostly all the LAN partys I've had, there would be huge grenade fights and all you can see is smoke and bodys everywhere. Of course I believe in using grenades skillfully, such as wedging them in high places where no one would ever expect a grenade to bounce, and have the ability to throw grenades with precision almost anywhere in the map. I love doing that. ( I want to include that carbines are acurate and have long range)

Ride the Pickle? Hmm...this is mentioned in direct context to the announcement trailer. Mc lands on the Covie cruiser and 'rides' it. Kinda looks like a pickel to me. A big, purple, metallic pickle. Hope this wans't already brought up but I'm sure it was...oh well.

lysergicide, I thought the books were very well written. I'm not sure, my opinion may be slightly biased simply because I'm so obsessed with the story.

However, after reading the books, everything that happens in the game makes much more sense and you notice a lot of things you might have missed. 'The Fall of Reach' and 'First Strike' were a bit more entertaining, cuz it was mostly new info; but 'The Flood' was still good, i think, becuse even though it goes through all the events of Halo, that you've already played through, It reveals many things that happen in between levels and with other characters (Keyes, The ODSTs, The rest of the humans in Halo, The covenant.).

So, I reccomend that you read them. Might hold you over a bit until Halo 2 and give you more info to better understand what might happen in the new game.
