1. Yes, his name is "John", designated "John, Spartan 117"
2. The origional pelican was smaller, which adds a better sense of feel to the newer ones. If you notice the E3 trailer, the pelicans wings (Stubs, as I call el) are flexible and are used as landing gear for hovering and such. There are a lot of changes. The one I'd like to see, but probably wont, is a pelican in multiplayer with a chain gun mounted on the back for a gunner (what else? heh!) and some weapons mounted to the "stubs" or another part of the vehicle for the driver/co-pilot to fire. It would be the ultimate troop-transport weapon for CTF on HUGE maps.
3. Im not sure about the Elites and Brutes. OXM's recent trip to bungie studios left the statement that this time, armor colors wont just verify status, but will determine the armor's resistance to different weapons. So we may have to better strategize which weapons we use on which elite. As for the brutes, they're armored to the hilt! Bungie made it clear to OXM that even the grunts will be more formidible this time around, so it's not going to be a matter of who's harder to kill, it's going to be a question of knowing which enemy to take down first based on their strengths and weaknesses. Elites and Brutes will be difficult, but based on the AI's new strategic fighting and team-tactic patterns, it may be a matter of which enemy seems the most formidible based on the situation, and what's in your inventory.
