Nice post, Kane.

Yes, I agree that you should go out and buy Deus Ex, it's one of the best single-player games ever... but if you're in it for the action then stay the hell away. It can't really be called a FPS - it's more of a total immersion into a plausible future, with heavy FPS elements and some RPG elements (like the skill system, complicated items, a real inventory, and a real augmentation system - things sorely missing from Invisible War, a disgrace to the original. Oh, and the character is actually badass this time).

The Mark V (five) MJOLNIR is rated as a class 2 by the Monitor. So far the only visible improvements are a higher jump and a slightly tweaked HUD (I wouldn't call that an improvement, though). I doubt that's enough to get it over a class 2 rating, because if it is the Forerunner are nowhere near as powerful as everyone assumes they are.

So the Mark V and Mark VI are both class 2 "combat skins" as the Monitor calls them.

By the way, has anyone ever looked for a significance in the name of the armor? MJOLNIR - weapon of Zeus, king of the Greek gods. Maybe this is proof that the shields are derived from Forerunner technology?

Actually, MJOLNIR is derived from Norse mythology. It is the hammer of Thor, their equivalent of Zeus, Jupiter and what have you. It is a "weapon" with which to strike back at the covenant (I am fully aware that it is not actually a weapon).

-k first off the monitor dude says he should upgrade to level 12 battle skin and he has level 2 which is unsuited for this work (killing flood and the such) now for one thing they made the MJOLINIR armour for quite a few spartans, like first the took like 75 or so naturally better kids like 6 years old trained dem at 15 they biogenetically (or how ever u spell it) enhanced him his bone eyes the such and given them MJOLNIR armour but not the ENTIRE 75 made it, if im not mistaken more than half of the 75 made it my a bit or so. so dats like 30-40 ish MJLONIR armour and they remade them the full version of it like the one with the shields so dats like 80 MJLONIR armour although the second set was more expensive thats still alot of money so i dont think they actually had to "pay" for all of it or w/e and that means that the one with no shields is the forth version and the fifth is the one in halo and the sixth is in halo 2 and read the faq it says expect more surprises or something like that

Well, seing as the Forerunner are as advanced as they are, unless we were at the top of their lvl II scale, in which case we would now have lvl III, we would now still have lvl II armor, with just a slight improvement (in the eyes of the Forerunner). Also, you should note that 343 GS says At Least lvl 12 to combat the flood, implying that there are even higher levels of armor.... *begins drooling* *in gollum's voice* they must give us our pretious, we need the lvl 24 battle armor wes does...

Actually, I have'nt. Does that talk about Norse mythology or somethingin it? Anyway, the reason I know that is because it is mentioned in The Fall of Reach, then later I had my brother look it up when he was looking at Norse Mythology (Just for confimation (I'm not sure why he was there anyway)).

In Halo 1 the marines had a class 1 armor and Master Chief had class 2 acording to 343GS. Acording to us MC has Mark V armor. So maybe in Halo 2 MC's new armor will be a class 3 but we dont know because 343GS's scale is different from ours. So far what we do know about MC's new armor, which is now Mark VI, is that it makes him jump higher and the HUD is different....i'm sure there are more things to it than that but we don't know because Bungie hasn't told us.
