Just wanted to post this, for PCI users looking to upgrade. I'm in Canada, so I can't take advantage of this deal :(

But hopefully, you guys can get better graphics outta your PCI. Enjoy!

Its ALOT better. In fact, it's the best for the PCI bus.

Hey man, where it says "vista ready : yes", does that mean its direct x 10 compatible or just simply vista capable in terms of graphics? Just wondering if you knew or not, so thanks if you can help, or thanks otherwise for reading.

Well, if you have AGP or PCI-E, then don't get this one. I'm only recommending this to those who only have PCI mobos.I havent gotten mine yet, but It's pretty good.

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

HAHA, the x1300 will absolutly DESTROY the fx5500, hell me drawing things on paper and calling it a frame rate beats out the fx5500.

  • 09.13.2006 5:11 PM PDT

LOL!! My ass it does. Not trying to be rude but comeon, a 5500 isnt gonna get 45-60 fps even on the lowest settings. My 7600GT PCI E card got an average of 77fps in the timedemo with everything turned on at 1152 x 864 and 8 XAF. How the hell would a 5500 be getting even 45fps with everything turned on? especially a PCI card... And no, my computer is fine, its an AMD 3200 2 gb ram and 7600GT and I can play Oblivion on high settings with 25-30 fps.

Oblivion. Got that game months ago, and I'm dying to play it. I might even call off my Halo career when i actually get the chance to. Maybe..............

Anyways, the X1300 fitted in Oblivion's mid-range category, so things should be fine. For Halo, I heard you can get 25-30fps on 1600x1200. Not bad.

Why don't you just spend $115 on a PCI-E motherboard and save up for a nice(r) video card?

At least...that's what I did.

Drivers arent going to help that thing at all, it's crap from the beggining and it is crap forever. No driver could ever fix the horrible architecture of the fx series.

  • 09.13.2006 8:55 PM PDT

I dont care what drivers or driver optimization you do. A pci card is not gonna pull 45-60 fps with everything turned on even at 640 x 480 res. let alone a 5500. Why would a 5 year old card play a game almost as good as a 1 year old PCI E card? Whats the point in PCI E video cards if a PCI card can do just as good? We might as well just buy 5500s then. Sorry if Im coming off as as ass but Im just telling the truth.

Btw, I have newer drivers then you since your card doesnt support them. Im using 84.43. So your drivers arent helping you one bit.

First off, don't misunderestimate the 5500. Sure, it's a piece of outdated crap compared to midrange GPUs on the market today, but on my PC before I got my 6600 I was able to run everything with full settings at 800 X 600 at a decent framerate from 25-45.

Secondly, it's time to upgrade to PCI-Express, seriously. I am planning to get a new motherboard soon, and instead of wasting money on a X1300 I'm going for the latest DX10 card when it comes out.

Is it time to break out the marshmallows?

Hmm a topic about a PCI card, how the hell am I suppose to know you have an AGP. How about some screenshot proof of that 45-60fps?

About the drivers, meh, I dont keep track of piece of crap cards. And I havent bothered to update drivers.

PCI or AGP, the fx500 still is a bad card.
